"HAMILTON" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO DOG Services"

Shelter ID: 106519 Breed: Great Dane

neutered male 16 weeks, 24 lbs (should be less than 60 lbs) adoption fee $210

Description: Hamilton is one of those puppies who makes it very easy to fall in love! This adorable 15-week-old Great Dane mix currently weighs around 24 pounds, but he is definitely going to be a much bigger guy someday! Hamilton is a typical puppy; curious, playful, wiggly, and still learning how to navigate the world. His new family should be prepared for all that comes with raising a puppy, including continued training, positive socialization, proper introductions, and plenty of patience. He's also a pretty mouthy little guy right now, so expect some puppy teeth and be ready to help him learn what is appropriate to chew. With the right guidance and lots of love, Hamilton has all the makings of a wonderful companion!

1. Hamilton is dog-friendly here at the shelter, but any resident dogs will need to come in for a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is a good fit. His puppy energy and play style will be important considerations when choosing a canine companion.
2.
We don't know yet how Hamilton is with cats or other small animals, so proper introductions and supervision will be important. His new family should be prepared to help him learn appropriate ways to interact with smaller animals as he grows.
3.
Hamilton can absolutely live with kids, but they should be prepared for a typical, mouthy puppy! He is still learning that hands, clothes, and people are not chew toys, so supervision and teaching both Hamilton and kids appropriate interactions will be important.

4. Hamilton is going to be a BIG boy, so now is the time to build those good manners! His family should be ready to continue positive reinforcement training and socialization as he grows because those cute puppy behaviors are a lot less cute when attached to a very large dog. If you're ready for the puppy years and excited to watch Hamilton grow into his big-dog self, come meet him!
