"CLEMENTINE" sweet mellow Cattle Dog mix - who still likes to play!

ADOPTED!
Jan 6, 2015
Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink
animal # 574094

Hello, my name is Clementine! Are you looking for a mature dog who still has a pep in her step but also can enjoy some snuggles? Please come down and meet me! I am good with all sizes of dogs, good with confident cats, love people, and my owner was deeply saddened to give me up. I am housetrained, crate trained, like to go for walks, sleep in the bed, and be where the action is. Age is just a number, right? Well I am around 11 years old and weigh in at 60 pounds. Maybe we could get on an exercise plan together for a more healthier lifestyle? Ask the information desk for more information about me!

"MYA" and "PUSH POP happy and adorable puppies

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

"MYA"
Returned to owner!
(Jan 5, 2015)
Folks - PLEASE make sure your pets have collars/id tags (and hopefully microchip id chips) at all times- it REALLY helps your pets find their way back home again! The animal shelters TRY HARD to locate the real owners, but it's your responsibility to be looking for them in the county animal shelters  (and please let your friends know that also? It used to be common knowledge to look in the local animal shelters when your pet was lost, but with internet and everyone moving places, often people don't know that the shelters are a primary place they should look)
Thanks! We all love to see the lost pets find their way home again!

MYA - adorable American Shelter Dog mix puppy
here's my Mcas weblink
animal # 574228

Hey everybody! My name is Mya and I'm looking for a family that will take me into their hearts and show me what it's like to feel loved. I'm not sure why I ended up here at the shelter, but I was probably an unwanted Christmas present. It's ok though, I know I will find my furever home here. I am a busy girl that is going to need lots of exercise and toys. The shelter is HIGHLY recommending that we attend reward based classes together, so I can gain some good manners and be a great companion. I love to give kisses, but be careful. Sometimes I get a little too excited and will scrape my little needles on you. I still have my baby teeth, so I am going to be a big girl when I grow up. At months old, I already weigh 19 pounds. If you a prepared to take on a pup, come on down and meet me today!

"Push Pop" - adorable Border Collie mix puppy

here's my Mcas weblink
animal # 574201

Hi there. My name is Push Pop - which is a cute name for a cute little puppy like me. I have a crooked front leg, but that doesn't stop me from being friendly with everyone, and of course I'm just sure everyone loves me too. Puppy classes strongly suggested to keep me well socialized with other dogs and I would like to start puppy obedience because I am very very smart. They tell me I won't be here long so hurry over if you want to meet me.

watch Push Pop in action!

"SHOSHONEE" sweetheart playful senior Chi

ADOPTED!
Jan 7, 2015

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink  ( adoption pending 1/7)
animal # 574154

Hi there, my name is Shoshonee. It's a big name for a little guy who weighs 12lbs. I'm a black and grey male Chihuahua mix. Supposedly I'm 16 years old, but the person who brought me in wasn't how old I am and I certainly don't act my age. The shelter thinks I'm really about 9 - 10 years old. I'm friendly and would like a home where I can cuddle - preferably on your lap and/or under the covers. I'll be a great companion. I lived with a cat and ignored him, so I might be able to live with another one. I came from an adult only household so the shelter is recommending respectful kids 6 & up. A noisy/busy household might be too overwhelming.

" FARRAH" friendly little (pharoah hound? pit? plus a few other unknown breeds) mix

ADOPTED!
1/ 5/2015

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink
animal # 574153

My name is Farrah and I dare you to ignore me. Bet you can't. I'm about 3 years old and I weigh a slight 24lbs. I'm exhuberant, loving and fun all in one package. Who could ask for more? I'm waiting for the right home to come along and teach me how to live in the house - is that you? If there are kids in my new home, the shelter recommends they be at least 6 years old because I can get scared when I meet new people and noisy little ones would be too much for me

All donations are much appreciated!!!

ADOPTED!!!
Jan 2, 2016

"TILLY"
a gentle mature chocolate Weimaraner/Lab mix
Tilly is a very sweet Weim x Lab mix who just wants nothing more than to love and be loved.  Her owner was tragically killed in a car accident, and friends contacted us to help find Tilly a new family to call her own. She is a little sad right now trying to figure out how her life changed so quickly.  Fortunately she is with a fabulous foster family who is making her feel secure and loved.

Tilly is 9 years old, spayed, and will be visiting the vet in the next few days to get the full meal deal vet care package to ensure she is happy and healthy.  Tilly does have a few pounds to lose and will need a family willing to keep her on a diet through the holidays, no matter how hard it is to say no to her sweet little face on Thanksgiving!

Tilly has been around kids and does fine with them.  She lived as an only dog, but we hear she did visit the dog park and did not have problems with other dogs.  Her foster family reports she is very calm and absolutely loves to cuddle.

Tilly is currently located in the area of Bend, Oregon.

"LOBO"
ADOPTED!!!
12/23/2015

Lobo is a very well loved and cared for 2 year old Weimaraner/German Shorthair Pointer mix weighing in at just shy of 55 pounds. Unfortunately, personal circumstances necessitate that he find a new forever family.  Although he may look small in the photos, his personality is big and he fits in just fine alongside larger compatriots. Lobo is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. He enjoys playing with other k9 friends, hanging with his owners, running, swimming, going on trips, chasing, greeting, and especially exploring his environment.

His striking good looks come from his mom, a blue Weimaraner, and his dad, a German Shorthair Pointer. Although always friendly with other dogs, kids, and people, Lobo does have a strong prey drive and cannot be in a home with cats or other furry little critters. When Lobo finds his new forever home, he will need some brushing up on a few of his commands.

Let us know you are interested in meeting Lobo by filling out an Adoption Application!

He is located near Salem, Oregon.

"MOCHA ADOPTED!
Dec 11, 2015

Mocha and her new Adoption brother snuggling- he LOVES her!

"MOCHA" a sweetheart senior with lots of pep!
here is Mocha's weblink

Sweet Mocha is hoping there is a family out there that will open their hearts and homes to her.  Mocha is 12 years old, 50 pounds, current on vaccinations and housebroken.  At this point in her life we are sure Mocha never thought she would be looking for a new home, but life throws us all curveballs and now she is hoping someone will see her for the sweet and beautiful senior Weim girl she is.  Ask anyone and I guarantee you will be told that seniors are hands down the best, and Mocha is no exception.

Mocha's ideal home would be with someone who is at home to spend time with her.  She loves to be involved and a part of all the activities. Mocha loves kids of all ages, loves other dogs, and does not seem to have much interest in cats.

If you are interested in learning more about Mocha, fill out an adoption application on our How To Adopt page.  If you have an application on file, just send us an email at weimrescue@yahoo.com.

Mocha is located in the Salem, Oregon area.

""SCOOTER" cute little Maltese mix

ADOPTED!
Jan 2015
Available for Adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here is my Mcas weblink
animal # 572125

I'm Scooter, a 4 year old white neutered male Maltese mix. I weigh about 14.2 lbs. I'm a great little lap warmer looking for a lap in a quiet adult home where I don't have to share my owner or my food & toys. A busy home with lots of people is too much for me, and I get too riled up around kids. I want an owner to adore and worship. I have a probable flea allery and a possible food allergy so I will need regular flea control and good quality food. Please ask your adoption counselor about this.

animal # 523459

Hello, my name is Buddy! I'm a young energetic boy who is looking for a new family! My adopter should be patient while we get to know each other better, you see I'm not one of those boys who gives his trust away so freely. Food and toys are the way to my heart. I already know some tricks and with some good guidance to refine my skills, I will be a lovely loyal companion. It is highly recommended that any children in my new home be 12 years or older because of my discomfort of handling and overwhelming social pressure. Please ask about me! I am around 3 years old and weigh 68 pounds

I'm active, looking for people to bond with who will provide continued socialization and training. The shelter thinks I haven't seen much of the world so maybe we can explore it together? Martin is looking for a great indoor home where he is loved and spoiled. He deserves it!
Meet Martin  on KOIN 6 - lots of weather info - but Martin starts about 1.24 minutes in

8 yrs old, 17 lbs, children 6 and up

here's the info you need to read from the shelter: If this dog is appropriate for a home with children, you must bring children aged 12 and under to the shelter with you for the adoption process. Not all dogs and children are a perfect match, so we want to make sure that the dog you select is a family-friendly dog.
If you have one or more existing dogs in your home, we require a "meet and greet" between your dogs and the adoptive dog at our shelter. Please plan to bring your dog(s) with you before the adoption can be finalized so we can be sure that the dogs and the humans all agree this dog will be the perfect match for your family!

I am currently at Pets on Broadway 503-208-1413 Call or stop by anytime during open hours to find out more about me! House Rabbits rule! You would be surprised to know we make very good home companions, engaging, playful and love to cuddle too! I am neutered and microchipped and ready for my forever home! Won't you make my holiday wishes come true and adopt me?

Here is an excerpt from a recent MCAS newsletter:
Caring for Bunnies:

Dr. Mark Burgess (exotics Vet) wants to emphasized that rabbits should basically only eat Timothy hay and pellets.

In the wild, rabbits are grass eaters, so giving them small  amounts dark leafy greens (like parsley, cilantro, and lettuce) is okay too.

However, feeding them fruit and carrots is bad for them because the sugar disrupts their gut flora, and cruciferous veggies (like cabbage, brussels sprouts, and bok choy) can make them bloated.
