PLEASE FOSTER/SAVE one of these local Shelter dogs

Can you foster a local MCAS shelter dog who needs you?

You might be saving a life.

It takes a good committed foster home to help them!

"CLAUS" shy- guy Tabby Cat likes dogs and cats - IN FOSTER HOME

Claus likes dogs BUT slow safe intros are necessary to ensure a good/safe relationship with the new cat and dog!

"CLAUS" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Animal ID: 279443 , 8 yrs, 9 lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/279443

This animal is in foster care! Apply to adopt them online! I am am shy guy who likes to hang out and be social on my terms, as in I like rubs and pets, but dont like to be picked up. I would do best with another social cat in the home as it brings out my confidence! I also do well with dogs. I would do best in a home with someone who knows it will be a slow start, and is willing to let me indulge me in some of my quirks... I LOVE playing with my cardboard and soft mice, but like to do it alone. I am very picky about my treats and am oddly specific about only eating treats out of my food bowl. I am vocal about wanting my breakfast - because breakfast...although I don't care if its wet or dry! If I sound like your kind of love bug, adopt me today!

 3 yr 9 mth, 55 lbs

My name is Sasha and I'm looking for a new home. I haven't had the greatest life so far and am looking for a family that can be patient and let me have some time to decompress and get to be myself again. I am a very sweet girl, but do have a lot to say and am not appropriate to live in an apartment or shared wall living situation. I am a Hound mix and definitely love to talk about everything. I have lived with another dog before and know several cute tricks. Training should be quite easy for me as I thrive on positive reinforcement and am extremely food motivated. My perfect home would be to live on some property where I can enjoy all of my best Hound traits. If you think we could make a great match, please come and meet me today!'

"MUFASA" URGENT!!! FOSTER / ADOPT? ? BIG ROTTIE MIX Boy knows sit, shake, down, sit-up-pretty, speak

Mufasa hates living in a animal shelter and he's going downhill but relaxes once he is away from the shelter. Please ask to see him in a quiet yard.

CAN You FOSTER?  He's a nice boy!

volunteer Denise says it best:"Yup, this guy is big at 101 pounds. He has a big presence, a big voice, and some big love. He is a bit clumsy, but that just adds to his cuteness.

He will be perfect for a home that has space inside and out, as well as the time and attention to focus on his positive traits. Cheese is a shortcut to his heart."

Recommend No Dogs in Home

My name is Mufasa and I am looking for a new home! I came to the shelter as a stray, so my history is unknown. I have been pretty nervous since arriving here, but I am beginning to come out of my shell and feel more comfortable about my surroundings. I have started to show all of known tricks as well. I already know several tricks, such as, sit, shake, down, sit pretty, and speak. I walk nicely on leash and love cheese! I can be nervous about handling, so the shelter is recommending no small kids, as I also weigh in at a whopping 101 pounds! The shelter has also seen some reactivity towards other dogs, but the nice people that brought me here said I was friendly with their small dog. If you have a quiet home with low traffic and think I might be the dog for you, please come out and meet me today!

"TEDDY young red/gold mix (maybe shepherd/golden/lab mix?) DESERVES a better home!

Teddy is soft  reddish tan with a long full bushy tail and expressive ears that change directions.  Fascinating mix, be fun to do a DNA test on him.

Poor guy hasn't had a very good start in his young life and needs a good owner to help him build confidence, provide stability and help him to feel safe.

Teddy came into the shelter with a rubbed off area on top of his nose, unknown cause. He's a nice boy, very lovable but very stressed out in a shelter environment.

Hello there!! I'm TEDDY!! Please allow me to introduce myself, I am an active and playful loving hyper dog, you could call me the hands-on type but since I do not have hands I learn with my mouth. To an exuberant dog like me everything is a game, sometimes I just get so excited I will jump up and grab the first thing that looks like a toy. I am up for anything and ready to amaze my new family with my skills. I am looking for a family who does not take life too seriously that will be patient, positive and lift me to my potential of being a perfect pup! The shelter staff think I have pretty goofy antics which they say is adorable but I will need continued positive reinforcement training to help me my best self.

My name is Tyson. I am a loving dog but I just don't love to be left alone so I need a home where someone is around a lot, or maybe I could accompany my new owner to work? I really enjoy meeting people so I could help you meet new people by working as your social director. I tend to get anxious and bark when left so apartment living is not for me. The shelter can recommend several strategies to help me better acclimate, because after all it's hard to adjust to a lot of change with age. In exchange I promise to repay you with love, companionship and kisses. I will need to be the only animal in your home, as I just want to be spoiled throughout my golden years. If you think we could make a great match, please come and meet me today!

"GASTON" Vol Fav! The BEST big Labby type mix - seems to like other dogs

Gaston seems to like other friendly dogs but he'll need to decompress once out of the shelter environment. Please give him time, and go slowly with any pet introductions and allow it to be a positive experience.

Gaston wants a best friend. His age is guessed to be about 8 yrs old, and he's a good large size (the best)  so he hasn't been adopted yet. Someone out there, a great home I hope, can still find and adopt this true gem!

I don't know what happened to bring Gaston into the shelter, without the owner coming to retrieve him,  but I have a feeling he was someone's best friend and then something changed and he ended up tossed aside for someone's other concerns in life. He is the bestest boy and mostly in great shape. Gaston is a big gentle guy, very Labrador type, a simple guy who just wants to be loved and feel secure  His lower teeth are worn down, like he'd been chewing on hard things in a yard just to self -entertain.  He's stressed in the shelter, but still walks nicely on a leash right by your side.

I am about eight years old and looking for a new home. My history is unknown but I have been friendly with all the people I have met here. I can't tell you how I feel about other pets so slow and careful introductions are a must. If you are looking for a fun, playful dog to add some joy to your life and help make you laugh, then look no further. I will bring endless fun and keep you entertained with my goofy antics. If you can keep up with me then I promise that we will have a life full of enjoyment with lots of great stories

"STAR" lively little Lab, likes everyone even the cat

PLEASE, if you won't actually commit to a young excitable Lab, don't bring Star home.  She has already had too many quick-turn-around "adopters" One reason she is so hyper and mouthy is because of all the change and stress in her young life. Poor dog.

"STAR"" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

Adoption cost: $160.00

Animal ID: 284377, female Lab, 2 yrs 53 lbs

Hi, I'm STAR!! I'm a very high energy lady that's all smiles! I am a girl in constant motion! Snacks seem to be an easy way to my heart (and my stomach - did I mention I like food?), and with constant exercise and some training with treats, I could be the perfect companion. I am very social - my previous owners said I got along great with anyone (even a cat I shared my last home with)! I learn my surroundings with my mouth and my paws, so I might get along better in a home with kids who have grown a bit, maybe 8 or older, but I would be a great addition to a family! Please come meet me!
