"JAKE" HELP a SENIOR GENTLEMAN Shepherd

 UPDATE Feb 2, 2023 ADOPTED

"JAKE" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Animal ID: 202576,  10yrs 3 mths, 82 lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/202576

At this time, community members aren't able to visit the shelter to browse adoption kennels, and adoptions are limited to the virtual process. Hi I'm Jake. I am an older guy looking for a home to live out my golden years with. I would love to lounge by the fire and take naps with my new family. I still have some pep in my step but these old bone aren't what they use to be, it takes me a little bit to get up and going especially on slippery surfaces so hopefully you have some carpet or rugs to help me navigate my new home. Stairs also arent my favorite so hopefully you dont have too many of those. I am pretty comfortable on the medication the shelter has me on to help with my arthritis so continuing it and maybe some joint supplements long-term would help me as well, we can talk to my new veterinarian together to see what is best for me, sound good? I am a favorite around here and hope to find the perfect home to call my own. The adoption counselors can let you know more about me during the adoption interview!

"MISS QT loving, low-rider ( a bit of Shepherd) Mix PUP

 UPDATE 1/27/23 ADOPTED

Date found: Monday, January 23, 2023
Location found: SE Alder St/SE 217th Ave, Gresham

"MISS QT" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Animal ID: 281360, mix - Shep mystery mix, 6 mths 34 lbs (and growing)

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/281360

Hi, I'm Miss QT, a shy but sweet young girl. I'm a bit of an enigma. I look like I have some German Shepherd in me, but I'm a bit of a low rider at this point in my development so it's kind of hard for the shelter to guess how big I'll be as an adult. The world can be a scary place and I could benefit from some further exposure to new things in a fun and nonthreatening way. If you are looking for a dog that wants nothing more than to be with you, I could be that pup.

"RUBY" pretty Little Coonhound

UPDATE Feb 2 TRANSFERRED

"RUBY" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Animal ID: 279583 3 yrs 46 lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/279583

My name is Ruby and I have never met an activity I did not like! If you love exercise and keeping active, then we will be fast friends. I will go for a run in the morning, a hike in the afternoon, play fetch in the evening, and unwind with some play at home before bed - and I would love nothing more than to have someone who can keep up with me. It is important that I have an outlet for my boundless energy, so let us get together and explore the outdoors! Like most hounds, I do like to sing so apartment living would not be a good match for me.

"STORM" Personable Husky Likes Hugs

I'm Storm! A fun and energetic boy looking for my home. I am active, playful, and would make a great adventure buddy! When I came in, staff said that I was good on leash, took treats gently. I already know sit and shake and would love to learn more! Ask to meet me!

"SKYE" WHIZ KID terrier mix, good with CATS, older children

 1/29/2023 ADOPTED

This little guy SKYE is very smart and lively! He'll happily come up onto your lap, but he is not a "lap dog" (well maybe he will be after he's had a full entertaining and active day) Skye knows sit, down, has great eye contact and is ready to learn much more. In fact, he'll be bored if his brain isn't stimulated daily.

If you like smart little (30lbs) active dogs, who are GOOD With Cats, Skye could be a fascinating new dog in your life

I think he might have some Jack Russell Terrier in him.

"SKYE" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Animal ID: 278332, male american shelter dog, 2 yrs 1 mth, 30lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/278332

Hi! My name is Skye and I am a people loving, little guy. I enjoy walks but I could benefit from leash manner training. I am good with cats and older children, but I need to be in a home where I am the only dog. Thank you for considering me as part of your family!

 UPDATE Jan 29 ADOPTED

"KOTA" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Animal ID: 281193, male 2 yrs 65 lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/281193

This ia a Exuberant Dog! I am Kota an active and playful active husky, you could call me the hands-on type but since I do not have hands I learn with my mouth. To an exuberant dog like me everything is a game, sometimes I just get so excited I will jump up and grab the first thing that looks like a toy. I am up for anything and ready to amaze my new family with my skills. I am looking for a family who does not take life too seriously that will be patient, positive and lift me to my potential of being a perfect pup!

"SCOUT" mellow med-size mystery mix

UPDATE Jan 24, 2023 ADOPTED

Date found: Thursday, January 19, 2023
Location found: E Burnside / NE 148th, Portland

Scout is an easy-going, unassuming young guy, looking for someone to bond with.  My impression is that he didn't get that much people attention in his former home, but who knows. He didn't solicit for any attention when he came out into the yard, just wanted to sniff around, longer than most dogs do, but then he is also new to the environment so it is more novel to him. Talking to Scout, brushing him, which he enjoyed (his thick winter coat had not been brushed in his prior home apparently), and bringing out some toys helped to open him up and he was soon giving kisses. Scout doesn't appear to know the command "sit" at least not in English or Spanish, but you can (gently) teach him.

Scout is a nice medium size, with cute white freckled paws. His face mask and legs have a pretty red/brown coloring. Quite the mystery mix.

Nice boy!

"SCOUT" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Animal ID: 281235, male , 1yr 6 mth, 54 lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/281235

I am a curious young dog named Scout! The shelter does not know much about my history but I have been friendly with the people I have met here. My favorite hobby might be exploring! I am a curious, smart dog and I love to learn new things about the world around me. I would love to have a job to do or learn some new tricks to give my mind something to work on. I do not shy away from novel situations and if you can keep me mentally and physically stimulated, I will be your loving friend forever. Make a trek to the shelter and meet me today!

"OSCAR" great personality - med sz shaggy terrier mix

 1/23/23 ADOPTED

Oscar has a ton of personality!  40 lbs, so don't  let the Yorkie face similarity fool ya. He's bigger than that.  Cool dog!

"OSCAR" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Animal ID: 279838, male terrier mix, 8 yrs, 40lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/279838

My name is Oscar and I am about eight years old. Not much is known about my past but I have been friendly and playful with staff and volunteers since my arrival here at the shelter. As you can see by my photo I have a shaggy coat that will need to be brushed regularly, like 2-3 times a week and may need regular visits to the groomer too. I will need to live in a cat free home and I have been reactive towards other dogs.

"ANGUS" BIG Great DANE puppy

UPDATE 1/24/23 ADOPTED

Make sure to research the Great Dane breed for best food/ feeding practices and exercise needs. Angus is already 82 lbs at 7 months.

"ANGUS" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Animal ID: 279839  7 mths 82 lbs and growing

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/279839

Looking for a pup to add to your family? My resume reads: sweet and playful, food motivated, knows sit, and I tried for extra cuteness points by doing play bows. My new people should be prepared to invest time and energy into showing me the things I will need to know to be a great companion pet, especially because I am already a big boy and growing. If there are other dogs in the household, my playtime with them should be supervised as I don't realize just how big I am and playful pounces might not be a good thing. If you are ready for that commitment, apply to adopt!

UPDATE Jan 21, 2023 Possible adopter or on hold

MCAS hours/ Location

Animal ID: 17675, male 18 yrs 8 mths

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/17675

I'm an elderly gentleman who is looking for a home to hang my hat. I am sooooo friendly and cuddly! I just want to curl up in your lap and be adorable. I don't care what we watch on t.v., or what podcasts we listen to. I simply want to be adored and spoiled. I do have hyperthyroidism, which I take daily medication for, and have the usual senior stiff joints from time-to-time. I don't seem to mind other cats, and kids are a-okay with me, as long as they are gentle! Would you like to give me a home? I'm waiting!

 UPDATE Jan 28, 2023 ADOPTED

Update Jan 10? now in foster home !  but he would love to be adopted into his true new adoptive home. Volunteer favorite!

GIVE HIM  TIME TO DECOMPRESS!

Tommy loves attention and getting petted. He's a really nice guy, and easy to be around. Tommy would just like to chill out in a more quiet home (no busy apartment living ) where he is the only pet, gets daily walks, and lots of love.

"TOMMY" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Animal ID: 271349  5yrs 5mths 74lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/271349

Recommend No Cats in Home
Recommend No Dogs in Home

This animal is in foster care! Complete a form to meet them. Tommy is a smart, good-natured male dog who exudes warmth from the inside-out. He's always a perfect angel on leash and will gladly shake your hand for a treat. He is very treat-motivated, so will do great with positive reinforcement training. He follows his nose everywhere, which means he loves to go on walks and explore. He also loves chasing balls (even if he forgets to bring them back), and he knows down and shake. Mental and physical stimulation are key! Once his walk is over, he turns into a big, mellow, lap dog. Tommy can be a little excitable around other dogs or pets. The shelter is recommending no dogs, small animals, cats or kids under the age of 12. If you would like a very smart, energetic dog to share your life, please visit me!

Blue is a three month old Husky mix puppy that arrived at the shelter with a medical issue. The Dove Lewis staff performed minor surgery and Blue is recovering nicely. https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/280131

My name is Chase and I am looking for a new home! I came to the shelter as a stray, so my history is a mystery. I was and still am quite thin and have steadily been gaining weight here at the shelter. I am quite the goofball and love everybody I meet. I know how to sit, shake, and down already too! I don't seem to mind other dogs and enjoy a good belly rub. I do have a mass on my armpit that the shelter has already scheduled to remove, so if you'd think we'd make great friends, please come and meet me today!

Hello friends. My finders found me sitting in a mud puddle covered in mud. That's where I got my funny name, Mud Pie! They gave me a bath and I cleaned up well! "GROOT" NEEDS a Doggie Playmate

  UPDATE 1/18/23 ADOPTED

MCAS needs to change it's "first come, first serve policy"

They also need to stop giving them away for free.

And please..no more free intact dog (females especially) sent to anyone who wants to have them!!!

Otherwise, it will continue being "a revolving door" for some of

these shelter dogs looking for a "forever home".

UPDATE Jan 10, 2023 Groot now in foster home. Groots is enjoying hanging out and playing with his foster brother.

Groot needs a compatible buddy in his new home that he can play with and express some of his energy!  He's been in too many short term homes and needs a permanent one.

Be fun to do a DNA test on Groot. He actually looks like my neighbor's young Bernese Mt Dog/Poodle mix!

"GROOT" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Animal ID: 273774, 2 yrs 66 lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/273774

This animal is in foster care! Complete a form to meet them. I am Groot! I am a sweet boy looking for my forever home. I am pretty active, so I would benefit from a home with someone looking to take nice leisurely walks with me - or runs, or hikes, or beach trips, or park trips. I love fetch and I'm especially affectionate after I get some exercise. I took a bit of time to adjust to the shelter but with a bigger kennel and some extra volunteer attention, I have become a very good boy who loves little pieces of string cheese. I know sit and I'm working on drop it and shake. I'm a love and looking for someone to love. I have been doing great in my foster home, and love to play with other size appropriate dogs! Apply to adopt me today!
