Last month, during our “Born in the USA” naming theme, this sweet girl became Dolly! Of course, named after a woman whose music, generosity, and unmistakable spirit touched generations of people.
We’re remembering Dolly Parton and celebrating the little piece of her legacy that lives on in names like this one. Our Dolly is still waiting for her forever home, and we think finding her person would be a pretty wonderful way to honor her namesake"

Fill out our adoption application. There is a $10 application fee due at
the time of submission. Please apply on our website and we will contact
you. If you’re applying from out of state to adopt a dog, please note
that it is a requirement that you come meet the dog at our facility.
Adoptions are available by appointment only. We will call you as soon as
your approved adoption application is next in our queue. Thank you for
your patience and understanding as we find homes for pets as quickly and

Meet Dolly, an 88lb gentle giant who is about 6 years old! Dolly is
the definition of a loyal companion. She absolutely loves people and is
happiest simply being by your side, whether that's relaxing at home,
joining you for a stroll, or just keeping you company throughout the
day. She has a calm, affectionate nature and enjoys soaking up attention
from the people she loves.
Dolly is beginning to show some normal wear and tear in her hips and
hind end, but it certainly doesn't stop her from enjoying life. She
would thrive with an adopter who is committed to helping her stay active
through regular walks, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and providing
the ongoing care and comfort she deserves as she gets older. With a
little extra support, Dolly has plenty of love and companionship left to
give.
1. Dolly will do best with an adopter who is committed to keeping
her active while being mindful of her comfort. Regular walks,
maintaining a healthy weight, and routine veterinary care will help keep
her feeling her best for years to come.
2. She has done well meeting other dogs here at the shelter and may
enjoy living with a compatible canine companion. A meet and greet with
any resident dogs will be required to ensure everyone is a good fit.
3. We are unsure how Dolly will do with cats or other small animals
at this time. If you have resident pets, please speak with your adoption
counselor about slow, thoughtful introductions to help set everyone up
for success.
4. Due to Dolly's size and her aging joints, she is recommended for a
home with children ages 9 and older who can interact respectfully and
help avoid accidentally causing her discomfort.
If you're looking for a devoted best friend who will happily stick
by your side through life's everyday moments, Dolly may be the perfect
match. She's a sweet, steady girl with a heart as big as she is, and
