"ROXY" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO DOG Services"

Shelter ID: 106372 Breed: Pit Bull Terrier

spayed female 5 yrs 45 lbs  adoption fee $210

Description: Roxy is a happy-go-lucky 5yr old Pitbull mix who is looking for her new forever. Roxy hasn't had the easiest life, and is looking for a soft place to lay her head and hopefully get all the scratches and pets she could ask for! At about 45lbs, Roxy is a petite gal who is VERY food oriented and VERY people oriented! Roxy does have an autoimmune disease that effects her skin and she has been undergoing treatment for here at the shelter, but it is a lifelong condition that will need lifelong treatment. Our staff veterinarian estimates that her medical costs will average out to approximately $100 per month between the cost of medication, quarterly vet visits, and annual bloodwork. Roxy's sweet disposition will pay dividends though on the investment you make in her!

1) Roxy is a very people oriented dog, who is looking to be an included part of the family! She would do best with a family or person that has dog experience due to her medical needs and selectivity of dog friends.

2) We don't know how Roxy will be with cats or other small animals, so be sure to discuss proper introductions with your adoption counselor to make sure Roxy and any resident small animals can be good housemates.

3) Roxy is dog tolerant and selective of her friends here at the shelter. She would thrive as an only dog, but may do well living with a male dog of similar energy level and calm demeanor.

4) Due to her sensitive skin, Roxy would do best in a home that has no children under the age of 13 and are gentle with their hands.
