 Project POOCH, quite simply, changes lives. We operate a kennel inside a youth correctional facility and pair currently incarcerated youth with shelter dogs. The youth learn kennel management, positive reinforcement, grooming, and training techniques. The youth learn what it means to be depended on by another living creature and what it means to be trusted and relied upon. And, they learn what unconditional love feels like—sometimes for the first time. Our dogs get trained, loved, and adopted into their forever homes. There is no limit to the amount of time a dog spends in our care, and we are focused on the individual needs of each dog."

"Ever wonder what a dachshund with a gym membership would look like? We think it might resemble Bullwinkle. This low rider is built solid so he can handle all the love you can bury him in.

If you’re looking for a dog who:

- loves people

- can make you laugh with his meerkat impression

- is content to stay home or head on an adventure

- settles and entertains himself when you’re busy

.. then Bullwinkle might be the dog for you!

At around 4/5 years old, Bullwinkle is a full adult, you can avoid puppy insanity!

**Bullwinkle came into POOCH with his brother Rocky. While we originally thought they were bonded, the brothers have shown us that they really enjoy solo time and aren’t keen on sharing a small space together. They might do OK being adopted out together, but we’ve found that they do good separate as well.*

All of our dogs are housed at our kennel in Woodburn, OR inside the MacLaren campus.
