"WHIRLWIND" cute MinPin/Chi mix likes to have fun

ADOPTED!
July 22, 2015

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink

Hi there, if you take me out you'll see how I got my name. I'm a fun little dog about 1 year old and I weigh 11lbs. Because I need a few minutes to get to know new people and so can be nervous, the shelter recommends respectful kids 8 & up. I'm fast and furious but also looking for mutual adoration and a lap to sit on

"POOH BEAR" shy, charming, handsome (special needs) Chow Chow

ADOPTED!!!
July 25, 2015

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink

Hello, they call me Pooh Bear. I am looking for a stable, predictable, calm environment to blossom in. I came to the shelter nearly blind, my shelter friends have started me on the path to recovery and the world is becoming clearer everyday. My ideal home will have experience with Chows, older respectful children and will help me continue recovering from surgery. I am shy at first, but once I trust you, I can turn on the charm! Hot dogs, other dogs, and patience will help me build a trusting relationship with my people. Currently I am in foster care so please call my foster mom at 503-789-4561 to find out more about me :)

I am a very gentle guy but I can't see very well

"MOOSE" delightful big white/black Pitmix

ADOPTED!
July 22, 2015

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink

Hi there! My name is Moose, I'm sure you can see why. I am a big boy that is looking for a quiet home. The shelter doesn't know much about me, but I was filthy when I arrived. I'm a pretty laid-back guy that should blossom more once outside of the shelter. I can be shy and new things can be scary for me. I am food motivated though, so reward based training should be easy for me to learn. Once I'm comfortable with you, I'm a squishy meatball that is happy just being by your side. I am asking that kids in the home be over the age of 8 years, due to my sensitive nature. Please come down and meet me today! I am around 3 years old and weigh 80 pounds

update - Moose is doing well in his new home!

"BIG MACK" gentle yellow Lab

ADOPTED!
July 23, 2015

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!
Big Mack is currently in a MCAS Foster Home

here's my Mcas weblink

Greetings, Portland. I am Big Mack, a strapping labrador retriever mix who is currently the star attraction in my foster home. I am a super laid-back guy who does great with other dogs and wants to be near people whenever they're around. I am demonstrating excellent indoor manners on a schedule, and I am getting acclimated to crate training, but truth be told I really, really want to share your bed at night. I am a champion cuddler who occasionally moans in contentment. Also, I love, love, love the water. I jump into the kiddie pool every opportunity I get, and I would love to go swimming together. I am best walked using a gentle leader. Walks are the best, and I get so excited to smell all the smells. I have had some surgery recently - the shelter removed some tumors. You will want to talk to your adoption counselor about what that all means for my future care. All I know is I feel great! I am truly a wonderful boy who will make the best soul mate ever. I am about 7 years old and I weigh about 75 lbs. If you are interested in learning more about me, contact my foster home at danni@dannipdx.com.

"PETEY" loving young brindle Pitbull

"TRANSFERRED" Second Chance Salem rescue group!!!
July 20, 2015

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink

Hey everybody! My name is Petey and I am looking for a special home that can provide me with the tools I need to become an outstanding canine citizen. Life did not start out so great for me and I am looking for the love and support that every dog deserves. I am a very loving boy that will need some attention on my impulse control. Sometimes I get so excited the feeling just takes over. I have started some work already and in just a couple of training sessions I can focus on my reward and sit. I am eager to learn, but will need plenty of exercise and mind stimulation. I have lived with another female dog before, but I can be picky about my friends. The shelter will require that we have a private consultation with a reward based trainer to help get me started on the right paw. Kids in the home should be over the age of 16 years and No cats or other animals smaller than myself should be in the home. If you are interested in meeting me, please email animal.care@multco.us. I am about 1 1/2 years old and weigh a thin 53 pounds.

"SHERMAN" nice Chi - I might like a doggie companion?

"TRANSFERRED to Oregon Humane Society"!
July 23, 2015

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink

Hello, my name is Sherman! Are you looking for a super sweet and fun companion? I arrived at the shelter with another small dog and after some time to adjust and a patient person who allowed me some time to trust her. Once I feel safe, I blossomed into that velcro boy who didn't want to leave her side. I will bond quickly with my new family and hope you find me charming! To make this a smoother process the shelter thinks it would be best to go into a family with children at least 10 years old. Please come down and meet me! I am around 3 years old and weigh 11 pounds

"MILLIE" everyone loves Millie!

ADOPTED!!!
July 18, 205

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!
In an MCAS Foster Home!

here's my Mcas weblink

Hi there, my name is Millie. I am currently in foster care. If you are interested in me contact Alix, the Foster Coordinator at alix.womack@multco.us or 503-988-6247 to set up a time to meet me :) As you may be able to see, I've had a lot puppies in my previous life but now I'm ready to be a companion pet! I'm 4-5 years old and weigh around 53lbs. I can be a little shy in new situations, but I am very gentle and I love kids and elderly people. I am the sweetest little girl whose goal in life is to bond with one person. I never bark and I'm great on leash. I like my crate, and I will need continued poddy training reminders. I do not like dogs playing with me or playing with one another so I would probably be best as an only dog, or would need very slow introductions. I like cats, snuggling and I even like chickens. Ask about me today!

"MILO" happy active and handsome

"TRANSFERRED from MCAS to OHS!
July 2015
Adopted at OHS!
 July 19, 2015
wishing you the best Milo!

July - Now at OHS - hope to see you there! If this fella drew your attention, it’s only natural. Meet Milo, an active boy searching for an active home. It will be essential for Milo to find a companion that can keep him mentally and physically stimulated. His enthusiasm and excitement for life is endearing, but will need to be channeled into rigorous activities. If you are looking for a running, hiking, or any outdoor activity companion, then we highly recommend Milo here. He loves his people, and will not want to be left alone (especially inside) for long periods of time. He will need continued basic training and socialization to keep him the best canine he can be. If you are looking for a dog that is always willing to take on that next adventure at a full sprint, then Milo may be partner you have been looking for. A training consult is included prior to adoption.

I really am a pitbull/border collie, and I have so many of the great traits of each breed!
I am very smart and people oriented, and just a fun guy. (Twin loves fetch, Gym not as much)
I'm only 10 months old, and need lots of daily attention, exercise, play.
If you're a person who just wants to go to work, and come home and sit on the couch, then you and I won't be a good match! But if you like to get out and do things with your dog, then come by and see me! I've lived with other dogs and might do great with a doggie companion. I'm a really nice guy!!

both Twin and Gym are 10 months old, 57lbs... children 12 and up (for
Twin) ... children 6 and  up (for Gym)

Twin loves to play fetch

 Gym is a sweetie

If this dog is appropriate for a home with children, you must bring children aged 12 and under to the shelter with you for the adoption process. Not all dogs and children are a perfect match, so we want to make sure that the dog you select is a family-friendly dog.If you have one or more existing dogs in your home, we require a "meet and greet" between your dogs and the adoptive dog at our shelter. Please plan to bring your dog(s) with you before the adoption can be finalized so we can be sure that the dogs and the humans all agree this dog will be the perfect match for your family!
Adoptions are on a first-come first-served basis among approved applicants. We cannot hold pets, so when you are ready to select a pet, please come prepared.

"BIGGUMS" playful Pitbull teenager

ADOPTED!
July19, 2015
They are really excited to get a dog and seem prepared and ready for the commitment that Biggums will need.

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!
Now staying in a MCAS Foster Home!

here's my Mcas weblink

Hello there! I am currently in foster care. If you are interested in me, contact my foster mom at amanda.tramposh@gmail.com or (503) 593-5456 to find out more about me :) My name is Biggums, Biggs for short, or Mr. Biggs if we want to be formal. I am a super sweet, playful puppy looking for a new start in life. I am a bit insecure when it comes to meeting new people so I may not come up and greet you immediately, but once I feel safe my personality will shine through and you will see I am a goofy, affectionate 10 month old puppy :) I am currently living with other dogs and doing great! I love chewing on bones and antlers and will even fetch the ball for you. I love sleeping in bed with my people, but am also content to sleep on my dog bed if that's what you prefer. I stay in my crate during the day while my foster mom is at work, and do fine, but I don’t love it so I will require treats and positive reinforcement upon entering it so I learn to like it more. Because of my young age I am still a little bouncy and can play rough so I would do best in a home with kids over the age of 12 and if you do have other canine companions I would need one young enough and sturdy enough to handle my kind of play. I would really love to find a new home that can help me build confidence and learn that new people are actually pretty great! Please ask about me today :D

"ROCKY" I AM so smart, and I listen, and I'm cute, young and very athletic too!

 ADOPTED!!!  yay!
July 15, 2015

Some good compatible home must be out there for me :) I know that I am too active for the average home, but I'd be an awesome buddy for anyone who likes their dogs to be athletic and smart too!
I listen well, and I can swim (I think I can) and do well on field trips.  I got my photos taken and I didn't wimp out like some of the dogs, and I tried my best to please.
I'm just a little guy, only 49 pounds, and could easily fit into your little car (but not when it's hot outside, and no a/c!)
Surely you love smart, young, athletic and trying so very hard...dogs?

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink

I may be in a quieter area - so please make sure to ask about me!
Hello, my name is Rocky! I would like to start off by saying that I am one handsome dude! My shelter friends have some good things to say about me. I am athletic, have learned some great obedience skills, and will melt your heart with my eye contact. Sadly I have been waiting for a new venue since April. My perfect adopter would have no children under 10, loves the outdoors and can provide me with plenty of phyiscal and mental outlets. Once I have been exercised I don't mind cuddling on the couch and have so much potential to be someone's rock star dog. I am food motivated and have been friendly with other dogs too. If you are interested in meeting me, please email animal.care@multco.us to arrange a meeting. I am a year old and weigh 49 pounds

She is good with cats and does well with other dogs if you give her several weeks to warm up to them. She should go to a home with kids 12 and older or no kids. Ask about Junebug today!

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink

Hello there! My name is Baron and I'm looking for a loving family to be their loyal companion. Did you know that German Shepherds are one of the most loyal breeds of dog? I am sure to make a wonderful companion and family dog. I am very mellow for a Shepherd, but of course will need plenty of exercise. Going for a walk or run would be fantastic! I already know how to sit, but am very eager to start learning more and I am very food motivated, so training should be easy. I am looking forward to being a family dog and am not one for being left outside. If you are an active person that has the time to put some training in me, please come down to the shelter today! I am about 2 years old and weigh a thin 60 pounds. I am already neutered!

Available for adoption with Multnomah County Animal Services!

here's my Mcas weblink

My finder named me Autumn, probably for all the pretty colors in my coat. I'm a 10 year old Border Collie mix and I weigh 53lbs. The person who had me for a month says I'm good with people but I wasn't around kids so that is unknown. I do know I want to be the only dog in the household so I can get all the attention. Dog parks are not for me, I'd rather play with people. I'm crate trained, ride well in cars and know sit, down and stay. Drop by and ask to see me.
