===============================

"Description: STOP! Do you love hard-knock dogs? Mistletoe is looking for a family to love and hang out with. He came in to the shelter in fairly rough shape but is making great and steady gains with some good quality food and flea preventative. Just look at that face! Our best guess is that Mistletoe is a smaller-framed Pit Bull. He is around 9 years old and weighs in at 53 pounds. Mistletoe does love people! He is a happy senior who is looking for a home where he can spend his time being loved and giving love. Are you looking for a companion that is happy to just hang around, go for gentle walks and car rides? Then look no further! Mistletoe is clean and quiet and walks nicely on leash. He has done well around other dogs outside in play yards or going for walks. Mistletoe will require occasional baths to help support his skin and haircoat while it continues to regenerate. Please consider this as his road to recovery will deeply depend on your continued TLC!

1) Mistletoe may do best in a home with dog experience that will give him exercise through walks, gentle explorations and hanging out in the back yard.

2)
We do not know how Mistletoe will do with cats or other small animals, but he has not seemed overly worried about small dogs or backyard bunnies and birds here at the shelter. Please discuss proper introductions with your adoption counselor to make sure that Mistletoe and any resident small pets will do wonderful together.

3)
Because he a hungry fella and eager to take treats, Mistletoe is likely to do best with children able to keep their snacks and sandwiches out of reach (so 13 years of age or older).

4) If you have another dog, please discuss with your adoption counselor so that a meet between your resident dog and Mistletoe can be arranged. This will help ensure a good fit!

5) Mistletoe does like to go for walks outside, but much prefers to be around his people. Being left outside alone will likely produce some cries and whines from this fella.

6)
While he had to initially be on some skin-calming medications, it is expected that only regular bathings and skin supportive food (fish or lamb based +/- Omega supplementation) alongside regular flea preventative will likely be enough to continue his ongoing weight and skin gains."
