Fivel, our 1 year old 17 pound spaniel (?) mix, may ACTUALLY be a fox/ferret hybrid. Because we don't want to upset the scientific community, let's keep this theory between us. Since we've had the pleasure of taking care of this delightful creature, Fivel has made huge strides in learning how to "dog". And, although the lessons must continue, he's ready to find his people.

We were asked to take in Fivel after he was found stray. Fivel has a head tilt, and we needed to figure out why. After exams of his ear drums and trials of medications, we determined the head tilt is likely permanent and could be congenital. Fivel does not seem to have any other neurologic problems and is perfectly comfortable. His slightly cocked head does make him seem like he doubts everything he's being told, though. It's good to be skeptical, Fivel.

Friendly and outrageously cuddly, Fivel could live his whole life traveling from lap to lap. Although he's a little shy initially, Fivel likes making friends. He is great with other dogs, is nice to chickens, and is gentle when playing. Fivel is also respectful of dog-savvy cats. We suspect Fivel was never in a home before and he's had to learn crate and leash skills. Thanks to the efforts of his foster family, he's come a long way. It's all new to our little fox/ferret, ahem, dog. His adopters should be willing to patiently continue to show him the ropes.

Fivel is heartworm negative and current on his flea and heartworm preventatives.

Tired of animals just believing everything you tell them? Always wanted your own dubious fox-creature? Fivel may be the dog for you!

Interested?
