"AIRES" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO DOG Services"

 Shelter ID: 106559

Breed: Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever

spayed female 10 yrs, 100 lbs (overweight) adoption fee $158

Description: Who is big, fluffy, and looking for a new home? Aires! Aires is an approximately 10yr old Great Pyrenees mix who weighs approximately 100lbs. She knows shes a bigger girl like many of her breed, but she wouldn't mind losing a few pounds to help with her joints! Aires is looking for a cozy retirement home to call her own. If you've got a cozy pillow and an empty hand or two for pets and treats, Aires is your girl! She still enjoys a nice gentle walk and would love to cruise the neighborhood with you, so put on your walking shoes and come meet Aires!

1) Aires is a lovely, older lady who would do great for a first time dog owner. She would likely enjoy having a backyard of her own, but she isn't opposed to apartment living where more walks may be called for instead.

2) Aires has been dog social here at the shelter. As an older lady, her puppy days are behind her and she likely would do great living with another calm dog. If you have another dog, be sure to discuss their personality with your adoption counselor to make sure they and Aires could be great housemates.

3) We don't know how Aires will be with cats or other small animals, so be sure to discuss proper introductions with your adoption counselor to make sure that Aires and any resident small animals can be great housemates!

4) Aires is a gentle lady who would likely do well with children who are gentle with their hands.

"RAYDON" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO DOG Services"

 Shelter ID: 106559

Breed: Siberian Husky

neuterd male 8 yrs, 72 lbs (overweight) adoption fee $158

Description: Raydon here, happy to make your acquaintance! Raydon is a happy-go-lucky 8 year old Siberian Husky who cannot wait to find his new home! Raydon is an easy going guy who would LOVE a home that will let him cuddle, play, and be his silly self. Raydon currently weighs about 72lbs, but is active in his weight-loss journey to help slim down to a healthier weight. Raydon had to have a bit of a haircut due to some foxtails and grass seeds stuck in his skin which was causing irritation, but he promises his hair will grow back! Currently, he is enjoying all the scratches and pets he can possibly get from anyone he meets, and he hopes that they'll be coming from you soon!

1) Raydon is a pretty easy-going guy who may do great for a home that has never had a dog before, but asks that his new home be prepared for his energy. Even though he is about 8yrs old, he still has plenty of pep in his step, and would love to go for walks or run around in a yard with his new family.

2) Raydon has been dog friendly here at the shelter! He may do best in a home with another dog of simliar energy level and size.

3) Although we have not seen prey drive here at the shelter, we do have information on Raydon's past that says that he doesn't do well with small animals like squirrels or other small animals in his back yard. If you have any resident cats or other small animals, careful and controlled introductions should be followed to ensure that Raydon and any resident small animals can be good housemates.

4) Due to his energy level and age, Raydon would likely do best in a home that has no children under the age of 9 and are gentle and respectful with their hands.

"BRIE" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO DOG Services"

 Shelter ID: 106572

Breed: german Shepherd

spayed female 7- 8 mths 60 lbs adoption fee $210

Description: Brie is a fabulous young shepherd mix at about 7 months of of age who weighs about 60lbs and is looking for her perfect forever home! Don't let her initial shy nature make YOU shy away from her - she LOVES to make new friends, but just might need a few extra treats to warm up to you. She really loves to go for nice easy sniffy walks to explore the world around her, too! Like any young dog, she would thrive with basic training. Training is both really tiring mentally and a whole lot of fun, too! Make sure to meet Brie!

1) Brie is an easy going young lady who would thrive in a home that has shepherd experience, too. She may do great as a first time dog, too, if her new family is dedicated to her mental and physical needs as a young, active breed.

2) Brie has done well with dogs here at the shelter! She would prefer a companion who is a bit calmer and willing to let her come out of her shell and slowly meet. If you have another dog at home, please be sure to discuss their personality with your adoption counselor and schedule a time to have them meet Brie!

3) We don't know how Brie will be with cats or other small animals, so be sure to discuss proper introductions between your adoption counselor and any resident small animals to ensure they can be great house mates!

4) Due to her initial shy personality, Brie may do best in a home with no children under the age of 9 years of age.

"FINN" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO DOG Services"

 Shelter ID: 106551

Breed: Breed: German Shepherd Dog

neutered male 8 yrs 80 lbs adoption fee $158

Description: Do you want a low-key quiet guy like Finn? Finn is a German Shepherd Mix but boy he is handsome! We think that he is about 8 years old and weighs about 80 pounds. He has been on a diet to trim his waistline, and he has lost 10 pounds! This old man is looking for a retirement home that will give him a comfy bed to lay on and lots of love and pets. He is a little reserved at first when he meets a stranger, but once he knows you, he is very affectionate.

The interesting thing about this guy is, he is a fair weathered dog. Not too hot, not too cold...and the rain, lets face it…who really likes the rain? Now as far as other dogs go, he is a no shenanigans kinda guy. He can appreciate a dog of similar size that is easy going and does not want to wrestle all of the time. He has shown really good potty habits here and is tidy about his bedding. He would prefer to have a dog bed to lay on, because he is an older fella that needs extra padding to sleep on. He enjoys walks, and a good belly rub. He would enjoy a home that is quiet and has only adults to share his time with. Do you think that you could give an old dog a chance at a loving retirement home? Come to the shelter and meet him, he is waiting for you!

1. We're unsure how Finn is with cats or other small animals, so we recommend careful introductions and appropriate supervision if he will encounter them. His family should be prepared to manage introductions thoughtfully and give him time to learn what is expected.

2. Finn would absolutely benefit from basic training and continued positive reinforcement. His family should provide plenty of appropriate exercise, enrichment, and structured activities while also teaching him how to relax.

3. Finn has done well with other dogs here at the shelter! He may do great living with another dog of similar energy level, as his playful days may be behind him.

4. Due to his initial nervous behavior, Finn would do best in a home that is free of children.

"GRACIE" *affectionate* TALL *spirited* 9 mth WEIMARANER PUP "OREGON WEIMARANER RESCUE"

 UPDATE 10/10/26 ADOPTION PENDING!

"GRACIE"  is Available for adoption at OREGON WEIMARANER RESCUE

MEET: GRACIE plus videos

Oregon weimaraner FB

current  Location: Portland , OR adoption fee $400

Weimaraner, spayed female 9 mth 72 lbs

 BELIEVED COMPATIBILITY WITH:

CHILDREN:  13 +

CATS:  unknown

DOGS:  Yes

Gracie is a 72# nine month old spayed female Weimaraner in search of a new start on life. She is happy, healthy, microchipped and current on her vaccines. Gracie made her way to us via a series of vehicle and airplane transports originating from a shelter in central California where she had been relinquished.

Gracie is a sweet and affectionate young dog with boundless energy + all of the rolypoliness one would expect of a dog her age however she is severely behind in her training and currently exhibits some undesirable traits which would be expected, even perhaps endearing, in a 3 month old 20# Weimaraner but she is not that. Gracie is at this time a very large dog whose size needs to be respected as her training ramps up and her attitudes shifted :) Her very experienced foster dad/mom have no doubt that she can certainly continue on to become a model doggie citizen but there is no time to waste with pausing that journey as she transitions from foster to forever home. Her foster parents expect that her training could be completed in a handful of weeks but there will be a rather steep learning curve and transitional period where she is going to be a bit of a handful.

Traits observed: Loves affection and seeks it out from known and unknown persons but respects the authority of men more than women. She will put her paws on any elevated surface regardless of whether there is food present or not. She has responded appropriately towards the 5 other Weimaraners she is currently alongside, meaning she will flip flop alpha/submissive as required by each dog in the pack and has not engaged in any behaviors unexpected in a pack of this size. No issues have been observed around food or feeding in the vicinity of other dogs. Gracie does not seem to be startled by loud or new noises and is very inquisitive and outgoing. She is learning how to go up and down stairs. She does not yet recognize a difference between dog toys and your things which may resemble a toy (no furniture chewed). Wire crate training progressing nicely. She takes treats gently and seems to be potty trained. She will put her very large paws on you. Fondling her paws is improving though she still mouths at you. She runs like a goofy puppy so soft knees are a must when she is on the move.

What we are looking for in a potential adopter: Strong pack leading humans with the time and ability to provide consistent and constant training informed by prior success training large dogs. Must possess e-collar training experience and current ownership of said device (usage has been extremely limited but absolutely necessary in the interim). No children under 13 (she is not going to respect littles at this time). Ownership of a large wire crate. Well trained existing dog a big plus. Active household who will get her out and about when the time is right.

We are certain that Gracie will be a wonderful doggie citizen in the near future and all of the aforementioned will be a long gone memory, but she needs and deserves a specific type of household to help her get there.

If you think you have what it takes to bring this lovely young female weim into your pack, submit an application

ORIGINAL FACEBOOK POST ON HER AND HER JOURNEY

SAVING GRACE!

Gracie was surrendered in California to a shelter at age 9 months for biting her owner.  OWR intervened and she is now in one of our foster homes.  When surrendered, Gracie was placed in a rabies quarantine in a cell for ten days and without a rescue stepping in at the end of this period, she would have been euthanized. This is known as a “rescue only” adoption.

Gracie lived in a home with an older couple where she was no doubt loved, however she was disciplined without training. For example, they put her on a chain in the back yard when people came over to keep her from jumping on them, and she was kept in the garage at night because she counter-surfed. Two behaviors we can confirm - haha, but there are better ways to manage them!

Gracie is a love and managed to melt many hearts on her OWR journey from her cell at the shelter to a freedom car ride to an airport, to a plane ride to another airport, to another plane ride to another airport, then finally a car ride to a foster home. Gracie gave A LOT of kisses and enjoyed the attention from everyone she met.

THANK YOU! Pilots N Paws for making it possible for us to connect with the amazing volunteer pilots Shuman and Echo who flew Gracie from the East Bay to the Portland area. Because of this incredible volunteer organization, Gracie did not have to spend a very long day transferring from car to car to slowly make it to us after having been in the shelter for two weeks!

THANK YOU Luana, Frances, Deb, Myth, Laura, and Allen for helping us save this beautiful girl. We could not have rescued her without your love, compassion and tireless commitment to rescue.

As far as Gracie’s placement goes, if she does not get snatched up by her foster parents ;), in the near future will post her availability on FaceBook and her full bio with all her requirements on our website.

Love you all!

(While typing this post we realized that we did not post another recent “save” that involved Pilots N Paws and many incredible people working together to help Weimaraners in need. We’ll tell the story soon but to everyone involved in Oliver’s and Blue’s rescue, THANK YOU!)

"FLUFFY" The ANNILATOR" "OREGON WEIMARANER RESCUE"

"FLUFFY" is Available for adoption at OREGON WEIMARANER RESCUE

MEET: FLUFFY

Oregon weimaraner FB

current  Location: Portland , OR adoption fee $400

Weimaraner, neutered male 2 yr 72 lbs

 BELIEVED COMPATIBILITY WITH:

CHILDREN:  presumably yes (sturdy one)

CATS:  unknown

DOGS:  Yes

Fluffy, aka Fluffy "the annihilator" so named by a triplet of young girls who felt the puppy that their dad had asked them to name was very large in size so he needed a big name, is a very sweet 2 year old neutered male Weimaraner who is happy, healthy, 72# and current on his vaccines.

Fluffy is currently in a loving foster home alongside 4 other Weimaraners following quite a series of life-changing events which saw his owner abruptly pass away in the hospital leaving Fluffy trapped indoors for three days before the deceased parties father could fly to town from out of state and resume caring for the big guy. Because of this unique situation not a ton is known about Fluffy in day to day life so essentially everything we know, or think we know, is from our foster parents.

Fluffy is understandably confused by his abrupt lifestyle changes but he is adapting quite well and has thoroughly enjoyed appropriately playing and interacting with the other weims on the property. He has definitely been well loved and has not shown himself to be anything but a big lovebug towards all of the new humans he has met...we would call him a consummate wiggle butt because his tail is always wagging. His former owner clearly cared for him and his overall appearance is excellent (we will be getting a bath, nail trim and microchip placed today). We were able to track down Fluffs full veterinary history which included a visit just a few months back to his lifelong vet. He still has bright pearly white young dog teeth and the quasi-coordinated lumbering run to accompany that age :) He has thus far not been a counter inspector, has not chewed anything inappropriate, does not jump on people, takes treats gently and knows the basic commands of come, sit, lay down and may know off, crate and stay but we are not 100% certain on those. He has been accepting of the wire crate accomodations and whines in the night if he needs to be let out and last evening had no issue going out for a late night potty break and then immediately returning on his own to the crate to sleep the rest of the night. He has not shown himself to be destructive and doesn't use his voice much at all to alert or play with the other dogs. Fluffy enjoys playing with the assortment of dog toys available to him and loves a good romp around the large yard. Due to his recent experiences he is a bit extra needy of affection and certainly is still on the lookout for his "dad" who will unfortunately not be returning for him.

If you think a big softy sweetheart of a shadow dog might be the right fit for you and your pack, please consider submitting an application
