"DALLAS" *FOster home* *GENTLE* *chill, mature* GERMAN SHEPHERD *well-trained* *great with dogs* "MCAS"

DALLAS'  FOSTER HOME would like you to know:

"Hi Everyone, I'm Dallas foster mom and here are some details about him:

Very chill, quiet guy. Only let's out a few barks to let you know your packages have been delivered.
Likes to spend most of his time resting on the couch or the bed, but   loves to play a quick game of fetch or gentle tug of war, followed by a quiet cuddle session.
Loves walks and jumps for joy when you grab his leash. Minimal pulling when walking him.
INCREDIBLE with other dogs. Loves to play with dogs and is very patient and tolerant with them.
The most gentle giant I have ever met.  (note, Dallas is only 69 lbs)
Well trained, Excellent recall! Could use a brush up on some simple skills like down and stay, but overall just fine the way he is.
A loyal, velcro boy that always wants to be by his humans side.

This boy deserves the best life for his golden years!"

Meet Dallas, a handsome Shepherd mix who is looking for a patient soul to show him the ropes! 🐾 This gentle boy can be a bit nervous in new situations and prefers to receive love and pets on his own terms while he builds his confidence. However, once he knows he is safe and comfortable, his inner social butterfly emerges, and he absolutely loves to cuddle up close for all the head scratches you can give. If you have a quiet home and a heart ready to earn the loyalty of a truly sweet, neutered pup, Dallas is ready to be your ultimate companion. 🐕❤️

"ROCKY" 23 lb CUTIE!!! *Tri-color*CHIHUAHUA/PITTIE mix "PROJECT POOCH"

Project POOCH, quite simply, changes lives. We operate a kennel inside a youth correctional facility and pair currently incarcerated youth with shelter dogs. The youth learn kennel management, positive reinforcement, grooming, and training techniques. The youth learn what it means to be depended on by another living creature and what it means to be trusted and relied upon. And, they learn what unconditional love feels like—sometimes for the first time. Our dogs get trained, loved, and adopted into their forever homes. There is no limit to the amount of time a dog spends in our care, and we are focused on the individual needs of each dog."

ROCKY neutered male, Breed: Chihuahua/Pittie Mix  APPROX 4 yrs 23 lb. **Loves People!

"Rocky has really blossomed at POOCH into an affectionate snuggly dude, who plays hard and rests hard! We think the working population could use him as a work/life balance coach.

Rocky’s tips for living your best life:
- every person you meet is a potential new best friend! Treat all of them with enthusiasm.
- play with abandon! Don’t be afraid to be silly and vocalize with your friends, friendly smack talk makes the games more fun!
- know when to take a break! Whether in the sunshine or a shady spot with a light breezy, lead by example and show everyone how to rest too.
-try something new with your friends, it might just be a BLAST.
Think you might need some one-on-one coaching? You could take this expert home to follow his example! Rocky is around 4 or 5 years old, so you don’t have to worry about that puppy insanity. You get a steady adult to join your family.
**Rocky came into POOCH with his brother Bullwinkle. While we originally thought they were bonded, the brothers have shown us that they really enjoy solo time and aren’t keen on sharing a small space together. They might do OK being adopted out together, but we’ve found that they do great separate as well.*
All of our dogs are housed at our kennel in Woodburn, OR inside the MacLaren campus.
If you’re interested in learning more about Rocky, you can read his bio at www.POOCH.org/adoptable-dogs

ASPHALT neutered male, Breed: Chihuahua mix

APPROX 1-2 yrs, 6 lbs  Adoption fee $350

*gets along with many other dogs (meet and greet required)

*loves his people

Will go home with a leash, harness, toys, a bed, two monthly doses of flea/tick/heartworm medication, and a week’s worth of food

Special Considerations

  • Asphalt is very small so he would not necessarily do well in a home with rambunctious children who couldn’t respect his space or with a large, pushy dog. He can hold his own against a medium (25#) sized dog, but it requires the other dog to be respectful of the boundaries that Asphalt sets.

Asphalt is an adventurous little guy! Don’t be the one to try to tell him that little dogs don’t do “big dog” things. He is always eager to join the guys on the walks, is a blast to train, and believes in balancing his work with equal enthusiasm for play.

At only 6 lbs, Asphalt rewrites expectations of small dogs solely being purse dogs. He joins in on the walks and is a good partner to strut with. The youth are perfecting his leash manners and he continues to learn more each day. He is, however, still very much ok with being catered to when the time is right. (He even trained some of the youth to wear the sling during chore time so he could stick right by them.)

If you’re looking for a pint sized dog to show up big dogs in the trick department, Asphalt could be a great fit for you. He is incredibly treat motivated and learns quickly. He’s been working on adding to his trick list while at POOCH and would love to show them off to you!

JASMINE Breed: Terrier Mix spayed female 25 lbs, 7-8 yrs

$350 **Gets along well with many dogs(meetand greet required)

*Loves People **Loves balls

Will go home with a leash, harness, toys, a bed, stroller, two monthly doses of flea/tick/heartworm medication, and a week’s worth of food

Special Needs:

Jasmine has several herniated disks in her back as well as some nerve impingement by her tail. If Jasmine jumps off a couch or down stairs, basically any type of jumping that could shock her spine, it could lead to her back end becoming paralyzed. She is going to need an adopter who fully understands this potential and wants to take her on, knowing that she could lose the use of her back legs in the future. The nerve impingement near her tail could lead to full incontinence. The future is unknown for Jasmine, but what we know right now is that she is happy and full of life and ready to bring joy to the right home!

Pleasure to meet you, I’m Jasmine!

If you were to look up what it means to have a zest for life, you might just find a video of me living it up! Whether I am hanging out in the office, or playing in the yards, there is absolutely no doubt that I love life. I’m accepting applications to share this enthusiasm with a new home!

Jasmine came into POOCH ready to show all the guys what it means to love life. She’s unapologetically enthusiastic about hanging out with her people and throws herself into her favorite activities! This terrier lady had quite the toy drive, eager to chase balls and de-stuff stuffies. She rivals labs with her love of the ball.

Speaking of things she loves, Jasmine loves people. She prefers to spend her time where the people are—maybe we should have named her Ariel with how much she wants to be a part of your world!

During training, Jasmine is extremely food-motivated. Unfortunately, she is not the best at finding the food you toss to her, so she does prefer you to hand it to her directly. Bonus: you get to see her hungry eyes while you do.

Jasmine isn’t particularly interested in participating in playgroups, but she enjoys being part of them while the other dogs run around. She is content to share her space with other dogs, as long as they aren’t running her over.

Due to concerns about hip pain and the possibility of chronic issues, we had our vet radiograph Jasmine’s hips. We found that she actually has some concerns along her spine that could be a larger problem in the future with trauma. Going forward from that appointment, we have started her on medication to relieve inflammation and support nerve health. For now, Jasmine is loving life, enjoying her walks and playtime, and having a blast with her friends. We are cautious about her jumping and making sure any larger dogs are not roughhousing with her.

BULLWINKLE neutered male, Breed: Chihuahua/Pittie Mix  APPROX 4 yrs 23 lb. **Loves People! *Loves toys!

Adoption Fee: $300 (if adopting both Rocky & Bullwinkle together: $450)

"Hi! I’m a bit of a lowrider with a gym bod! I’m a lap connoisseur and I have yet to find a lap I didn’t like. I’ve got all sorts of tricks to show you, so come meet me today! "

"Ever wonder what a dachshund with a gym membership would look like? We think it might resemble Bullwinkle. This low rider is built solid so he can handle all the love you can bury him in.
If you’re looking for a dog who:
- loves people
- can make you laugh with his meerkat impression
- is content to stay home or head on an adventure
- settles and entertains himself when you’re busy
.. then Bullwinkle might be the dog for you!
At around 4/5 years old, Bullwinkle is a full adult, you can avoid puppy insanity!
