The dogs at Clackamas Co shelter have a harder time getting adopted since recent budget cuts closed the shelter on Saturdays.
Fill out our adoption application. There is a $10 application fee due at the time of submission. Please apply on our website and we will contact you. If you’re applying from out of state to adopt a dog, please note that it is a requirement that you come meet the dog at our facility. Adoptions are available by appointment only. We will call you as soon as your approved adoption application is next in our queue. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we find homes for pets as quickly and efficiently as possible. Annie Oakley here, ready to find the perfect partner for life's next
adventure! Annie is an approximately 35lb Australian Cattle Dog who is
around 1 year old. This sweet girl has a gentle, sensitive personality
and is looking for someone who will help her blossom into the confident
dog she's meant to be. The shelter can be a big, overwhelming place, so
she may take a little time to settle in and show off her wonderful
personality. Once she feels safe, she's a loving companion who is eager
to build a strong bond with her people. As a young Australian Cattle
Dog, she is also looking for a home that understands the needs of her
intelligent, active breed and is excited to provide plenty of training,
enrichment, and appropriate outlets for her natural instincts.
1. Annie Oakley is a sensitive, reserved girl who will thrive with a
patient adopter committed to helping her build confidence through
positive reinforcement, consistency, and encouragement. Previous herding
breed experience would be a huge bonus!
2. Annie Oakley has done well with some dogs here at the shelter and
may enjoy a canine companion who is respectful, well-socialized, and
matches her play style. If you have another dog at home, please discuss
their personality with your adoption counselor and schedule a
meet-and-greet to help ensure they'll be a good fit.
3. Due to her strong herding instincts, Annie Oakley is not a good match for homes with cats or other small animals.
4. Annie Oakley would do best in a home without young children and
would likely be happiest with adults or respectful teenagers (13+) who
can give her the time, patience, and attention she needs to continue
building confidence and settling into her new home.
