Popcorn, our 10 year old 13 pound poodle, loves to be comfy. Give the guy some blankets and he'll carefully arrange them to maximize luxury. Considering the state Popcorn was in when we met him, we don't blame him one bit.

Popcorn was found stray and was so matted that the shelter wasn't sure if he could see. We took Popcorn in and had to immediately shave him. We found multiple grass seeds imbedded in between toes, in his cheeks, even in his ear canals. Fortunately Popcorn's eyes were just fine; they had just been matted shut for a long time. The next step was to address Popcorn's teeth - he had many painfully infected ones. Now that he's recovered from multiple extractions and his haircut is growing out, Popcorn is finally feeling great.

In his foster home, Popcorn has been an easy keeper. He is housetrained and although he doesn't want to be in a kennel, Popcorn is respectful when left alone. He is great with other dogs; we have not see Popcorn with cats but could do an introduction if needed.

A bit timid, it can take Popcorn some time to warm up to new people. Once he does, he is affectionate and sweet. Popcorn is, like all of us, startled by being picked up suddenly. For that reason, we recommend older kids in Popcorn's home. He loves walks, cuddle sessions and sniffing around the yard.

Popcorn is heartworm negative and current on his flea and heartworm preventatives.

Popcorn is looking for someone to help him maintain the lifestyle to which he has become accustomed. This shouldn't be too hard - just some spare cushions and a periodic haircut. Think you're up for it?
