"COOKE" affectionate (GSPmix??) (WEIMmix?) "NEW LIFE Asher House" (formerly "Family Dogs New Life Shelter")

AVAILABLE for ADOPTION at NEW LIFE ASHER HOUSE!  (formerly Family Dogs New Life Shelter)

COOKE

Cooke is now listed as "Weimarnar/catahoula mix" Cooke was listed as "German Shorthaired Pointer/Lab mix"...either way works :)  active, young pretty velcro dog

Neutered male, 2 yrs, 58 lbs

Kids 6+,  Dogs - yes,  Cats - unknown

“Cooke” may not actually know how to cook but he sure knows how to eat! He’s the most adventurous and most affectionate dog at the sanctuary! He’d love to either cuddle with you by a cozy fire or join you on your next 10 mile run! He’s always up for everything as long as he’s with you. Hide your snacks tho because Cooke will certainly find them! He’s a smart boy who loves to learn and would like a home with someone who will continue his training to help him reach his goal, which is to become the best boy ever! Cooke loves all dogs but definitely feels more confident around females than males. Cooke is sometimes shy at first, so kids 6+ will suit him best but after a few days of building trust he will never leave your side!"

My adoption fee is $240 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

APPALOOSA ID # 335185,  female, 10-11 weeks(age estimate) 31 lbs  NOTE she will be LARGE

Hi there! My name is Appaloosa, and I'm a super-duper energetic lab mix puppy who is ready to bounce my way into your heart! I'm still learning my manners (sometimes I forget that those cute puppy teeth are a bit sharp!), but I'm a quick learner and eager to please. I'm always up for an adventure, whether it's a walk in the neighborhood, a game of fetch, or just a cuddle on the couch (after I've burned off some energy, of course!). I'm a real people pleaser and I love to shower my humans with affection. Did someone say belly rubs? I'm a big fan of toys, especially the squeaky kind! And I'm always up for a game of tug-of-war. Okay, maybe I'm a little biased, but I've been told I have the cutest puppy-dog eyes. Because I'm still young and learning, I need a patient family who will be understanding and help me grow into a well-mannered dog. All this puppy energy needs an outlet! I need a family who can keep up with me and provide me with plenty of physical activity and mental stimulation. Think long walks, playtime in the yard, and maybe even some fun training classes! I'm eager to learn, and I would love to go to puppy school to learn all the good pup manners. If you're looking for a fun-loving, energetic companion who will bring endless joy (and maybe a little bit of mischief) to your life, then I might be the perfect pup for you! Come meet me and let's play! Please note: I might do best in a home with older children who understand how to play gently with a puppy.

"RONAN" senior HUSKY "NEW LIFE Asher House" (formerly "Family Dogs New Life Shelter")

AVAILABLE for ADOPTION at NEW LIFE ASHER HOUSE!  (formerly Family Dogs New Life Shelter)

RONAN- adoptables

Husky, neutered male 13 yrs, 80 lbs

kid 6 +..Dogs no... Cats no

What My Friends Say About Me:

  • I absolutely adore human company. I’m a big fan of belly rubs, gentle pets, and all the love and attention you can offer. I’ll shower you with gratitude and cuddles in return!

  • Couch potato? Absolutely! There's nothing like a comfy spot to curl up and relax.

  • Don't mistake my love for lounging with a lack of adventure – I also enjoy spending time out in nature, soaking up the sun and smells.

The Type of Home I’m Looking For:

  • I’d thrive in a home where I’m the only canine companion, with kids older than 6 who can engage with me in a playful and gentle manner.

  • A family that enjoys spending time with me and can help me stay active would be perfect!

  • I prefer a home without cats; I’d rather be the only pet!

My adoption fee is $160 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

"MARNIE" gentle LAB/Malinois" "NEW LIFE Asher House" (formerly "Family Dogs New Life Shelter")

AVAILABLE for ADOPTION at NEW LIFE ASHER HOUSE!  (formerly Family Dogs New Life Shelter)

MARNIE- adoptables

Malinois/Lab mix Spayed female, 5 yrs 79 lbs

kids,yes...Dogs, yes...Dog savvy cats

"I’m not saying I’m the most magical dog in the world, but I do have a bit of a Marnie vibe — minus the witchcraft, of course. My life’s mission? To fill your home with excitement, playtime, and plenty of tail wags.

I love to run, jump, and fetch like I’m on a quest to save Halloween Town. If you’ve got other dogs, count me in for endless games of chase! I’m a great playmate and will keep up with just about anything you throw my way. Kids over 2 years old? I’m their new best friend. I’m gentle, affectionate, and ready for all those cuddle sessions after a fun-filled day of play. As for cats, I’m all about proper introductions—think of it like Marnie learning to control her magic: slow and steady, and we’ll be the best of friends in no time.

If you're ready for a playful, loving companion with a touch of magic (and zero spells involved), I’m your girl. Let's create some spooktacular memories together!"

My adoption fee is $240 and includes spay, microchip & registration, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

"TOBY" quiet calm little scruffy Terrier mix, "PROJECT POOCH"

"Project POOCH, quite simply, changes lives. We operate a kennel inside a youth correctional facility and pair currently incarcerated youth with shelter dogs. The youth learn kennel management, positive reinforcement, grooming, and training techniques. The youth learn what it means to be depended on by another living creature and what it means to be trusted and relied upon. And, they learn what unconditional love feels like—sometimes for the first time. Our dogs get trained, loved, and adopted into their forever homes. There is no limit to the amount of time a dog spends in our care, and we are focused on the individual needs of each dog."

"TOBY" is AVAILABLE FOR Adoption at "PROJECT POOCH"

"TOBY"

neutered male Terrier  mix, 7 yr 15 lbs

  • Quiet, calm, and confident

  • Very friendly with humans and other dogs

  • Walks well on a leash but needs shorter walks

  • Can relax/chill on his own but prefers to be close to a human companion

  • Will play with dogs his size

    THINGS TO BE AWARE OF

  • Needs soft food because he has very few teeth.

  • Toby has a luxating patella and sometimes limps, but does not stop him from jumping on couches and in laps.

    • Special Considerations: Would do great with kids. Does not need tons of exercise or a yard. He is happy to hang out with people and also can be left alone for reasonable amounts of time.

    • Needs: He could benefit from easy physical therapy exercises every day which we will share with you. The PT will help keep his hind legs strong and healthy. He will need to be fed soft food and treats due to lack of teeth.

"VIVIENNE" young Cattle Dog "PROJECT POOCH"

"Project POOCH, quite simply, changes lives. We operate a kennel inside a youth correctional facility and pair currently incarcerated youth with shelter dogs.

"VIVIENNE" is AVAILABLE FOR Adoption at "PROJECT POOCH"

"VIVIENNE"

spayed female, 1.5 yr, 45 lbs

Needs: A single-family home with a yard, or a townhome with a sizable enough yard that she can go potty outside without having to go on a walk as she decompresses and adjusts to her new home; not recommended for an apartment.

Would benefit from continued training. Not recommended for placement in a home with cats or other small animals.

  • Love water—pools, sprinklers—you name it, she likes it!

  • Enjoys a good snuggle

  • Walks well on leash

  • Can relax/chill on her own

  • Enjoys playing

  • Can be a little shy at first

  • Can be reactive (vocal) with some other dogs.

Vivienne is a friendly flirty girl who loves dog friends. She is learning about the world and sometimes gets nervous when she encounters new things. She’s looking for a companion who will take the time with her to show her all the things the world has to offer. Her confidence has grown since she came to POOCH and she no longer feels shy about walking in and out of doors. She found her love for sprinklers and splashing in pools at POOCH. Vivienne LOVES the water. She can lounge in the hot sun for hours and then wear herself out throwing toys in the air and zooming in the yard. She is very interested in other dogs and sometimes uses her big girl voice to let passing dogs know they forgot to come say “hello” to her. The youth have been teaching her some manners with passing dogs and she’s made lots of progress. This training will need to continue as needs guidance from her person to continue to teach her what is expected when she has these big feelings. She has made lots of doggy friends during her stay at POOCH. She needs a slower introduction as she is still learning her doggy manners. Vivienne is a herding breed and has the natural tendencies to chase things that move fast. She has not been cat or small animal tested. It’s not recommended to place her in a home with cats due to what we know about herding breeds.

Meet Magdalena, a sweet and social 3-year-old who's ready to zoom into your heart! This playful girl already knows "sit" and "down", but she's got a whole lot of energy to burn. She loves people and is eager to please, but she's looking for an active home with experienced dog owners who can provide her with the exercise and mental stimulation she needs. Magdalena was previously returned because her energy level was a bit much for her former family, so she needs someone who's ready for a playful pup and can keep up with her zoomies! If you're looking for a loving, energetic companion who will keep you on your toes and fill your days with laughter, Magdalena might be the perfect dog for you!
