"NIGEL" in foster timid and very loving Lab/Pitmix "OREGON HUMANE Society- Portland"

 UPDATE 2/6/25 ADOPTED

"NIGEL" is Available for adoption at Oregon Humane Society

NIGEL

in foster home available 1/14/25

listed as "looks like" Labrador/American pitbull terrier

#321171 neutered male, 5 yr 5mth 69 lbs adoption  $50

What my friends at OHS say about me:

  • I'm in a foster home right now, but I'm still available for adoption! Click the Meet Me button and complete the questionnaire to schedule a meet and greet appointment.
  • I might be shy at first, but I bond HARD with my people and will be your best friend!
  • Once I'm more comfortable, I'm a happy, goofy guy that loves to snuggle! My favorite thing to do is follow my people around.
  • Do you like holding hands? If I grace you with a paw, it means I like you (and I would like some more head scratches, please!)
  • When I'm feeling cozy I like to sploot out on the floor.
  • Give me some time to get to know you and we can start to do more things together! I may not be ready to explore the whole world on day 1, but I do like hiking and adventuring as long as you can help me feel safe! In town, I like short sniffy walks so I can watch all the action.
  • Don't be surprised if I put myself in a crate or under a desk when I'm feeling overwhelmed... my friends say I'm part cave-bear.
  • To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout.

The type of home I'm looking for:

  • I would flourish in a quiet, calm environment and a low-traffic home. Busy apartment complexes might feel overwhelming for me.
  • After years of living in a home with too many animals, I would prefer to be the only pet, but if you go slow with introductions I might be okay with a walking or play buddy!
  • I may do best in a home with older kids who can read my body language and know when I need space.

"GUS" 19 lb POODLE mix (will need routine grooming) "MCAS"

  UPDATE 2/5/25 ADOPTED

"GUS" is Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!
MCAS hours/ Location

Date found: Tuesday, February 4, 2025
Location found: Return, Portland
How did we get this animal: Adoption Return
Adoption cost: $160.00(except $25during adoption specials)
License fee: $27.00 (Multnomah County residents only)

Animal ID: 338310  male 2 yrs 19 lb
 listed as Poodle
Hi, I'm Gus, a 3-year-old Poodle mix with a heart full of love and a coat full of fluff! I'm a social butterfly who loves meeting new people and making friends. My favorite activities include getting pets, snuggling on laps, and going for walks where I can strut my stuff. I'm a smart boy and eager to please, so I'm sure I'd excel in training classes with my new family. Because I'm a Poodle mix, my gorgeous coat requires regular grooming to keep it looking its best and to prevent mats. I have shown some signs of resource guarding my food, so if I am going to a home with kids, I'd prefer they be older and more dog savvy to respect my boundaries. My ideal family is committed to keeping up with my grooming needs, providing me with lots of love and attention, and understanding my resource guarding tendencies. If you're searching for a cuddly companion to brighten your days and don't mind a bit of fluff (and are prepared to work with me on my resource guarding), then I might be the perfect dog for you!

"ARUGULA " aka "COCOA" gentle SENIOR Chocolate LAB "CLACKAMAS Co Dog Services"

 UPDATE Feb 5, 2025 ADOPTED

"ARUGULA" is Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO ANIMAL SERVICES"

ARUGULA

listed asChoc Lab mix

Shelter ID: 105735 spayed female,

Breed: Labrador Retriever/Mix
Age: 10 YEARS
Gender: Female
Color: CHOCOLATE
Size: MED
Shelter Name: ARUGULA
Shelter ID: 105735

Description: Arugula is a gentle senior lady who is looking for the perfect, loving retirement home to call her own! She is a happy-go-lucky older lady who still has plenty of pep to her step and would enjoy a home that will give her the love and attention that she deserves! She looks forward to some easy walks in the neighborhood, and don't forget some gentle games of fetch! Arugula makes it easy, and is happy to toss the ball back at you for easy fetching! If you're looking for a easy going companion to call your own, come down and see Arugula!

1) Arugula can be a bit nervous with new people, and may do best in a dog-experienced home who will advocate for her out in the world.

2) Arugula has been dog friendly here at the shelter, but may do best with a male dog of similar energy level as her - she may not do well with a young playful dog!

3) We don't know how Arugula will be with cats or other small animals, so please discuss proper introductions with your adoption counselor to ensure she can be good housemates with any small animal in the home!

4) Due to her more nervous nature, Arugula would do best in a home with children who are at least 13 years of age or older.

"SIMBA" 45 lbs mix - Great Pyr/Border Collie - No Cats "CLACKAMAS Co Dog Services"

 UPDATE Feb 5 2025  Adopted

"SIMBA" is Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO ANIMAL SERVICES"

SIMBA

listed as Great Pyrenees /Border Collie

Shelter ID: 105761 neutered male, 4 yrs, 45 lbs

Description: Simba is a 4 year old Border Collie-Great Pyrenees mix, currently weighing in at 45 lbs. At full size, he has the appearance of a small golden-colored Border Collie, but come in and see for yourself! Simba is looking for a positive reinforcing home who values training and enrichment. He has handled extremely well for us, showing us his good skills with a no pull harness and enjoyment of pets. Simba seems to really enjoy potty walks with staff and volunteers along with spending time outside in our play yards. We anticipate that Simba will want to always be right in the mix with his family and their adventures. He has been extremely clean and tidy in his kennel and is expected to pick up on a new household routine quickly. Simba will likely need regular weekly brushing to keep his coat looking amazing as it is thick and luxurious. Please do your research on the Border Collie breed if you are considering adoption. They enjoy being active and mentally engaged. SUPER smart and family oriented dogs.

Simba was previously adopted and kept in a home for 2 months. He did WONDERFULLY on all fronts but could NOT transition to a space with dog savvy cats. For this reason, Simba cannot be adopted by a household where there are resident cats. His previous adoptive family had this to say about him:

'Simba loves bully sticks, spray whipped cream, and licky mats. He is crate trained, but loves sleeping with us on the foot of my bed. He is a dog who will get up with me if I get up early and will also stay in bed if I do. He never seems to need to urgently go potty. He doesn't mind the rain or having his muddy paws wiped off. He loves being brushed. He loves visits to the vet and does well with interactions there, both human and canine. While he does get jumpy with humans, he never jumped on our 7 year old or the 3 year old we see often. He is sweet and gentle with them. He is learning to keep all four on the floor but isn't 100% there yet. His jumping is surprisingly gentle. He lies under the table by my feet during meals and doesn't beg or snatch food, but like most dogs, is an opportunist and will help himself to unattended food. He is truly a gem and one of the easiest dogs we've had in our home.'

Simba has been neutered, heartworm tested and is current on his rabies vaccination and flea/heartworm preventative.

"JOEY" sweet young RETRIEVER mix "NEW LIFE ASHER HOUSE" (formerly Family Dogs New Life Shelter)

 UPDATE 2/2/15 ADOPTED!

AVAILABLE for ADOPTION at NEW LIFE ASHER HOUSE!  (formerly Family Dogs New Life Shelter)

JOEY- adoptables

JOEY,  listed as Retriever mix, neutered male 2.5 yrs, 56 lbs

Kids 4+,  Dogs - yes,  Cats unknown

I’m a sweet fella who’s looking to bounce my way right into your heart! I’m fun and playful, the type of BFF who likes to be right by your side. When it comes to other dogs- I love em! I’m smart too, ready to learn lots of new stuff. I’ve already figured out how to get to where my people are, even if a fence is in my way I’ll show off my impressive skills—like a kangaroo on a trampoline!! So clearly I’m agile and devoted to my humans! All as I ask is that you let me be part of the family, I’m not interested in being left in the outback.

I’d do great in a home with kids over 4 who can respect my space (I promise, I’m worth the respect). I’m also a big fan of food, so if you love snacks as much as I do, we’ll be best pals. I love people and am always ready for some affection—belly rubs, snuggles, you name it. As for cats? Let’s just say I haven’t met one yet, so maybe no cats for now.

If you're looking for a fun, affectionate and loyal companion who’s ready to bounce right into your heart and home, I’m your guy! Just make sure you’ve got a secure yard and a snack stash ready!

My adoption fee is $240 and includes microchip & registration, neuter, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

"EGGNOG" pretty blue-eyed AUSSIE/ HUSKY mix "INDIGO RESCUE"

 UPDATE Feb 1 2025 ADOPTED

"INDIGO RESCUE"  helps dogs in need that are coming from the local County Shelters

"EGGNOG"  is available for adoption with "Indigo Rescue"

EGGNOG
Neutered male, young, med size
Affectionate, Athletic, Curious, Gentle, Smart
good in a home with other dogs
adoption fee $450
Meet Eggnog!

This sweet boy was estimated by the vet to be around two years old. We don’t know exactly what his breed mix is so we are only guessing. He weighs 53lbs. He is gentle and loves to lean into your leg or roll over to get belly rubs.

Eggnog likes other dogs and likes to try to herd them. He shows a bit too much interest in chickens that he sees over the fence so we’re going to assume he has a pretty high prey drive. We have not seen him around cats.

Eggnog will be a great dog for someone who wants a good walking buddy and a sofa snuggler.

The first part of our process is to have you complete our adoption application. This helps us make compatible matches. You can find the application on our indigorescue.org website under the Adoption tab. We’ll get back to you from there.
**Please note: Indigo Rescue only adopts to homes within 30 miles of Beaverton, Oregon. Thank you
