Do you ever look
around and decide, nope, not today. Today, I will not make any new
friends; I will not try any new things. Today, I will hang out with the
one person I like and I will mind my own business? So does Stewart, our 1
year old 11 pound terrier mix! He looks around most days and decides,
nah, let's stay home and cuddle. We can try to be social tomorrow. Our
perfect introvert needs his own person to shut out the world with.
Stewart
came to us after having been found injured. We suspect he was hit by a
car. Although he did not sustain any broken bones, he was in shock and
needed time to heal. Since we've had him, Stewart has made a full
recovery and has had a dental (he had to lose a broken tooth) and a
neuter.
It's hard for Stewart to make new friends. He takes
several days before he trusts someone but once he does, he trusts them
completely.. Stewart snuggles HARD and would be best for someone who
wants to dote on a little dog. He appreciates scratches, full belly
rubs, and foot massages.
Stewart has a lot to learn about being a
dog. He is practicing walking on a leash, but the outside world is
still a little alarming. For that reason, he should be adopted by
someone who has a safe, secure space for him to pee. Stewart would like a
low traffic, quiet home. Kids would scare the daylights out of him.
But, Stewart loves other animals, both dogs and cats. Stewart would
thrive with another friendly dog to pal around with. He is potty and
crate trained and has been a good house guest.
Stewart is heartworm negative and current on his flea and heartworm preventatives.
It's a perfectly fine choice to NOT go to the party. Agree?
