"NOVA" INSECURE, playful and smart....46 lb Pitmix "OREGON HUMANE Society- Portland"

 UPDATE 3/31/25 ADOPTED!

I think she's great.  Nova is one of the longest term dogs at OHS( adopted and recently returned - sounds like she and the resident dog didn't get along)  NOVA has always been uncomfortable with strangers passing her kennel so it is harder for her to meet a good adopter.

  • Head scratches make me so happy!
  • I can't wait to show my new family how playful I am!
  • I'm very active and will need positive outlets for my energy.
  • I love to learn! You can use my favorite toys or treats as positive reinforcement and to teach me new things.
  • Click here to sign-up for our Start over Rover class! We will help you set you on the right path to have the best life possible with your new furry friend through training, games, and exercises!
  • Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.
  • High Energy: I can become easily frustrated if my energy and exercise needs are not met. I will need positive outlets and a calm environment to help me flourish.
  • I am part of the Diamond in the Ruff program, which you can learn more about here.
  • Resource Guarding: I have a history of guarding my people, food, toys and/or bedding from other animals or people.
  • Barrier Reactivity: I can be frustrated meeting new dogs or people through barriers. I prefer to meet in a neutral, open setting, take things at my own pace, and will need to live in a low-traffic environment.

The type of home I'm looking for:Escape Artist: I have a history of escaping doors or fences. I will need supervision when outdoors or we can go on adventures together - on leash of course!

  • I need to be the only PET in the home
  • No small children
