"BENJI" (needs an adopter/ FOSTER!) LAB/Pit mix - LIVED with CATS "MCAS"

Benji has poor kennel presence so nobody asks to meet him :( (The  loud noise of the shelter is very stressful for him)  Benji is a different boy when away from the shelter.  Sweet, loving, playful and loves to learn new things. He is said to walk well on a leash.

Benji is a great dog and has been in the shelter way too long. He was an owner surrender, no fault of his own. He was loved but they could no longer care for him.

It will take Benji some time to get used to a new home, so please give him space and patience. The last thing he needs is to be adopted by someone who doesn't care about his welfare and he gets returned...

Please ask to meet Benji in a calmer place, and ask the person showing to close the kennel doors of the other dogs! (unfortunately this is not the practice of current management and the dogs suffer because of it)

"Omg, I LOVE this dog!! He is so curious and mellow when out walking, then he’ll start jumping around wanted to engage. He is smart and sweet, and gorgeous!! And those ears? My goodness. He’s definitely a catch.  " MCAS volunteer (mcas fb)

Benji is a sweet and gentle 4-year-old Labrador Retriever mix looking for a patient and understanding family to call his own. He can be a bit shy and fearful at first, especially in new situations, but once he warms up to you, he'll be your best friend for life! He's very treat-motivated, which makes training a breeze. Benji loves to play fetch and tug-of-war, especially with his favorite tennis ball! Due to his timid nature, Benji would do best in a quiet adult-only home with a securely fenced yard where he can relax and feel safe. He has shown to be dog-tolerant but would need slow and careful introductions to any potential furry siblings. With a little love and patience, Benji will blossom into the most loyal and loving companion. If you think you can give Benji the loving home he deserves, please come meet him today!!
