Mr Goodbar, our 8 year old 10 pound chihuahua-mix, is pretty proud of his DNA results. Yes, he’s nearly all chihuahua, but his test also indicates that Mr Goodbar is 9% Pomeranian. Since learning this, Mr Goodbar has been teasing his hair up. Do us a favor? Tell him he looks extra fluffy when you meet him.
Found stray, the county shelter asked us to help Mr Goodbar with his dental disease. We took him in, cleaned his teeth, and extracted several painful molars. Now healed (and neutered!), Mr Goodbar can get to the business of finding a home.
A real charmer, Mr Goodbar is an easy house guest. He is good in his crate, is 98% potty trained (he did mark an indoor plant a couple of times, but we can see why that’s confusing), and mostly quiet. Mr Goodbar loves other dogs and likes to meet them both on and off leash. He’s also been respectful of the cats that he’s met.
When we first met Mr Goodbar, he was terrified to walk on a leash. His foster family has taught him that outings are fun, and Mr Goodbar is really getting the hang of adventures. In the house, Mr Goodbar is easily entertained with squeaky toys. He’s learned to sit and he’ll spin around for attention when he’s excited.
The one thing Mr Goodbar doesn’t like is being picked up suddenly. That’s understandable, but because of this sensitivity, we don’t recommend small kids in his new home. Mr Goodbar’s ideal adopter will be gentle and active. Mr Goodbar likes to explore and having a buddy to do that with would be great. Although initially a little insecure, Mr Goodbar is a very sweet and friendly guy once he realizes he’s safe.
Mr Goodbar is heartworm negative and is current on his flea and heartworm preventatives. His adoption fee is $250.
