  A Letter from Callie

Hi. It’s me. Callie.

I’ve been practicing my manners while I wait for you.

I know how to sit.

I know how to heel.

I know how to “leave it.”

 

(I’m still working on “give the ball back,” but I’m very enthusiastic about fetch.)

My foster family says I’m smart. I just finished more training, and I work really hard because I want to make my person proud. 

 

I love slow walks where I can sniff everything.

I love brain games.

I love rolling in the grass.

But mostly… I love being with my human.

 

That’s when I feel calm. That’s when I feel happy.

 

I don’t have a mean bone in my body. I just have a lot of energy and a lot of love. Sometimes I can jump four feet in the air if I see a squirrel — it’s impressive, really — so I’ll need a yard with tall fencing. And I’d probably do best as your one and only, because I really like having all the attention.

 

 

I’ve been waiting almost a year.

That’s a lot of sunsets.

A lot of “maybe todays.”

 

I promise I’m worth it.
