Isla, our 20 pound 5 month old lab mix, missed out on a bit of puppy-hood. When she should have been practicing zoomies, Isla was instead confined to her crate. For a good reason, though. Isla was surrendered after she sustained a fractured elbow. Thanks to the 15/10 Foundation for covering Isla’s care in its entirety, we were able to take her in and have her leg surgically repaired. Isla’s finally allowed to romp and play, which is the perfect time to find a home.
Isla is a sweet, playful, active puppy. We don’t know her mix, but based on her current size, we expect her to be about 40 pounds or so fully grown. She is crate trained, is potty trained and is learning all the other puppy skills. She is sweet, smart and motivated to learn.
At her foster home, Isla loves other dogs. She plays pretty hard, so a patient and playful dog roommate would be best. Isla has been fostered with cats, but she would like to play with them too. A dog savvy cat could work. She’s moderately mouthy (not unusual for a puppy her age), so little kids may find her annoying.
Isla does well out and about. She happily snoozes under a patio table. On the weekends, Isla loves snuggling and sleeping in with her people.
All puppies need ongoing socialization and training. To make it easier for Isla’s adopter, the 15/10 Foundation is covering her initial training (a $1000 dollar value)! Signing up for training will be a requirement for her adoption. Isla will make it fun by being the prettiest and smartest one in class.
Isla is spayed and is current on her vaccines and flea and heartworm preventatives. Her adoption fee is $400.
