The dogs at Clackamas Co shelter have a harder time getting adopted since recent budget cuts closed the shelter on Saturdays.
The longer stays are tough on dogs! Please consider taking some time on a Tues thru Friday 1:00-4:00 pm to visit with one of the adoptable dogs!

"BARNEY" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO DOG Services"
Shelter ID: 106326 Breed:Australian Shepherd/Border Collie
5yrs 57 lbs adoption fee $205 neutered male
Description: Hi, I'm Barney! I'm a 5-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with a big heart and a wagging tail that never quits. I weigh about 57 pounds. I love meeting new people and will happily greet everyone with a friendly hello. I just can't get enough pets and attention!
I'm a smart, energetic guy who would be thrilled to join you for walks, hikes, or any adventures where I can stretch my legs and show off my playful side.
I've lived with other dogs and have done well in my interactions so far, so I may do well with a compatible canine companion. As an Aussie mix, I have lots of energy, so a home with a securely fenced yard or plenty of safe space to run would be most ideal; this is where I'm happiest... playing and exploring to my heart's content!
I'm looking for a loving home where I can keep being my fun, loyal, and friendly self.
- Barney is a happy, outgoing guy who will thrive in a home committed to his mental and physical needs. He will thrive best in a home with a securely fenced yard or plenty of room to safely run and burn off his Aussie energy
-
We don't know how Barney will be with cats or small animals, so introductions should be handled carefully with guidance from your adoption counselor.
- Barney has done well with other dogs at the shelter; discuss introductions with your adoption counselor to find the right match. If you do have other dogs in your home, a meet and greet will be required prior to taking him home.
-
We're unsure how Barney would do with children. He may do well with children 9+ and who can be understanding and respecftul of him, but you should bring your children along to your meet and greet so everyone can get acquainted and ensure a good fit.
