"MAX" ADOPT A LOCAL DOG! affectionate big German Shepherd

Update 10/14Adopted!

Max is a delightful, affectionate dog!Nice big German Shepherd! Gentle, easy to walk

and always has a wagging tail when you talk to him.

Max came into the shelter as an owner surrender. He was in very poor condition, hair loss, and underweight. He developed Kennel Cough - common in a shelter environment, even though they are given vaccinations when they enter. Possibly because of his weakened condition, Max then developed pneumonia (much more serious than KC) and was treated in the shelter hospital. We were all very grateful that he recovered!! He needs a good home now!

"JACKSON" freckled young Lab mix ADOPT LOCAL DOGS first!

10/11 ADOPTED

MANY GOOD DOGS on Adoption like Jackson linger at the MCAS shelter. Please first try to adopt a "Local dog"

Why are so many of our good local dogs not being helped  by OHS or other rescue groups?

--------An active dog like Jackson shouldn't be cooped up for a long time. He needs to get up and move! Kennel life is tough.

Jackson is curious, does a great "sit", is affectionate and responsive to people. Needs leash training like so many young dogs, but will do much better on a "Haltie" head collar or Front Clip Harness.

Loves to run and play but also chills out with you when you sit down with him.

Animal ID: 273131, 1yr 55 lbs

https://www.multcopets.org/adoptable/273131

Hello, I'm Jackson! I was brought to the shelter as a stray, so not much is known about my history, but all my friends here at the shelter agree that I am an energetic and friendly guy! I like to spend my time exercising my mind and body, but I also love to cuddle when I'm tired! I'm still learning to walk nicely on a leash, so a front clip harness is recommended for me along with patience, consistency and lots of treats. If you would like to take me home or would like to know more, please fill out an adoption application! I am a young handsome pup who came into the shelter as a stray. My finder said I was friendly with both big and small dogs, so I could likely have another dog roommate. Taking long walks together would be a great way for us to bond! I would likely do well with other animals, as well, given a proper introduction. I am still a pretty young dog and ready to please. If you are looking for a fun, playful dog to add some joy to your life and help make you laugh, then look no further. I will bring endless fun and keep you entertained with my goofy antics.
