UPDATE 5/13/25
14 year old Marley made it to his Old Dog Haven Forever Foster home this past weekend!
Thanks to our transporter who forever fosters for us as well. She shows such kindness in doing these transports, picking up a dog directly from its owners can be an emotional endeavor . We have found that many people who give their dogs up truly love their dogs; they just cannot care for them properly and want to find a home with someone who can. We are happy when we are able to find that home because of our wonderful fosters and all of you who donate to help fund their lifelong veterinary care.
Marley's forever foster has another Old Dog Haven forever foster named Snickers. Marley is a chill dude, a perfect match for Snickers who likes to be the "boss girl"!
Our forever foster told us that Marley attached himself to her very quickly. She is both hearing and visually impaired but he is getting around the house well. Marley is playing with toys and exploring the yard pretty well.
Currently quite overweight, Marley can't walk as far as Snickers can. His very patient and attentive foster had an answer for that- a ride in a cart! With a gradual diet and exercise plan, perhaps Marley will be able to walk further, which is always something to shoot for. Comfort is always the goal! Marley's veterinary intake appointment will happen soon. We hope this sweet boy has some good quality time ahead of him.
He is certainly a lucky boy to have landed in his Old Dog Haven home where he no longer has to spend long hours alone.

He's still in need of a home!
Will you share this sweet boy again? We are hoping this time around will find his family-to-be!

find this boy an Old Dog Haven forever foster home.

"PERMANENT Old Dog Haven HOME NEEDED:
(in W. Washington state or Portland, OR only)
"Marley" is a neutered male cocker spaniel, big but
pudgy! at 48 pounds. We are told that Marley is between 12-13 years old. He sounds like a really nice guy, his person passed and he is with family who can't keep him much longer. Marley has had longtime eye
troubles, mostly "cherry eyes" and some dry eye, and occasional ear
infections - the common breed issues - which will need further medical
visits and upkeep. He's not had lab work or a thorough exam but
has been vaccinated and the eye/ear medications kept up on. His caretakers say they
think his eyesight is limited and hearing may be also. Marley has lived
with other dogs and gets along with all, no cat experience but he
doesn't bother chickens! He's fine on a leash, hasn't had a lot of
exercise recently (thus some of the extra weight....) but enjoys
chasing a ball. We are told he is a very gentle, happy guy who will
snuggle up to anyone who will sit with or pet him.
If you know cockers, they are just great buddies. We would love to
find this boy an Old Dog Haven forever foster home.
Would you like to help Marley? Give him the forever home with care he needs?
Old Dog Haven pays all vet bills for the dogs we take into our care. We have donations to thank for that!
