UPDATE 5/21/25

Oh this girl...We are truly surprised she is still in need of a forever foster home. Where are our chow lovers?? If you've never had a chow, here's your chance! Please help us find a home to send Baby Lion to

PERMANENT Old Dog Haven FOSTER HOME NEEDED

PERMANENT Old Dog Haven FOSTER HOME NEEDED:
(in W. Washington or Portland, OR only)
"Baby Lion" is a spayed female chow chow who weighs 40 pounds. She is a very old lady. This girl is deaf, has cataracts but sees enough to get around, and is very arthritic but particularly needs help going down stairs - a ramp is ideal - which is probably both arthritis and vision. Her
labwork is quite good.
In her temporary foster home she is living with other dogs and likes having them around but not bothering her. She chased (slowly!) the cat for a bit and now coexists peacefully. She wants to be within sight of her people but sleeps a great deal! She
is housebroken and needs to be in cool spaces; getting all that coat
trimmed way down will help a lot.
This is a nice old lady who's been glad to be pampered and loved - we've done the initial vetwork, now she needs a permanent home for "hospice and assisted living".
Remember that Old Dog Haven covers all vet bills-thanks to donations!
If you can open your heart and home to an old dog who needs you, we have a long wait list! We are looking for new forever foster homes! Please read more about joining our network of homes:
