UPDATE 6/6/25 ADOPTED
Clair's puppies Birdie and Betty received an overwhelming response from viewers (and are adopted), but this darling senior mom is getting no adoption interest. How sad!!! I fostered Claire briefly when she first came into rescue. She was exceedingly loving and an easy house guest. Someone will be very lucky to adopt Claire!

Claire, our 11 pound 10 year old Maltipoo, should have been enjoying early retirement. Instead, Claire was stray and found herself at a very crowded shelter. We were asked to help as Claire had horrific dental disease. Since we love a dental makeover, we were happy to take her in. Imagine our surprise when we discovered our senior Claire was also pregnant.
Claire needed an emergency c-section on April Fools Day. She and her two girls made it through with flying colors. Claire's puppies have found their forever homes, which meant we were finally able to address Claire's mouth. She didn't have any salvageable teeth left. Although she's now toothless, Claire eats so much more comfortably, and is now ready to get a home of her own.
Very friendly, Claire is good with all people, including kids. She has been great with both cats and dogs. Claire is perfectly potty trained, quiet when left alone, and not destructive. Claire loves walks so much that she dances when her person puts on their walking shoes. She is very cuddly, will politely tap you to remind you to keep petting her, and loves to be held.
Claire has had normal blood work, is heartworm negative and is current on her flea and heartworm preventative.
We can't imagine having to raise kids when we ought to be getting our AARP card. Fortunately, Claire never has to do that again! Is yours the retirement home she's been looking for?
