Dogs on their website https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/dogs/
Yakima, WA is a long drive from Portland, but the Yakima Humane Society seems like a decent animal shelter that could use a boost for attention. They spay/neuter all their adoption pets and try to do adequate adoption screening (which is more than can be currently said of Mult County animal shelter!)
SAINT intake 1/4/25 Pet id 57578408 Adoption fee $175
"Listed as" Dobie/Shepherd, male, 10 mths 25 days (came into the shelter at 8 months, poor guy)
Meet Saint, an eight month old male Doberman/German Shepherd mix weighing 63 pounds.
Saint
is a sweet boy who was a bit nervous when he first came in to us. He is
kind of a goober and is a little unsure of new situations so he looks
to his people for support. Once he gets all of the love and
attention/reassurance he is a different dog. He is a friendly boy who
just needs some socializing and training so he can approach new
situations with confidence. Saint has met a small dog and done well,
however, we do recommend doing a meet and greet if there is another dog
in the home as Saint can be a bit of a dork and not all personalities
will get along. He recently met a medium sized dog and just wanted to
play like the dork he is, we adore this silly guy! He walks pretty well
on leash, especially for his age!

Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?
That's
where you and the pet make sure you're a good fit for one another by
having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. It's a win-win
for everyone! Just ask our front desk staff about how it works.
