SENIOR DOG RESCUE of OREGON

REGGIE"  Coonhound, Redbone / Hound neutered male, 13 yr 65 lbs $200

 Crate trained
Housetrained
Good with Cats
Needs a fenced yard
Hi, I’m Reggie! I’m a handsome 13-year-old Redbone Coonhound/Hound mix with a beautiful red coat, a big hound-dog personality, and a surprising amount of pep in my 65-pound body. Don’t let my age fool you—this senior guy is still strong, playful, and can run pretty darn fast when the mood strikes!

I’ve been with my family since I was just a pup, so finding a new home is a big change for all of us. My person is very ill, and they want to make sure I’m settled somewhere safe and loved.

I’m housetrained, crate trained, and leash trained. I sleep comfortably in my crate at night and am used to spending time outside in a securely fenced yard during the day. A fenced yard will be important in my new home, along with someone who has time to take me for walks, spend time with me, and build a bond.

I’m a gentle, adventurous, independent fellow who is playful, food motivated, and protective of my family. I’m friendly and curious with other dogs, and I’m especially good with cats. In fact, I’ve had kitty friends who thought my crate looked so cozy that they climbed right in and slept with me!

I haven’t lived with children, so we don’t know how I would feel about them. I can also be a little unsure about strangers and may bark when someone new arrives, but I settle down. Loud noises like thunder and fireworks can be scary for me.

For 13, I’m doing great physically. I can manage stairs and get in and out of the car without assistance, although I’m nervous about car rides and travel in a crate. I know “sit,” “come,” “no,” and “no bark,” and on walks I can walk nicely, though sometimes my hound nose gets the better of me and I pull.

What I’m hoping for now is pretty simple: a secure fenced yard, good walks, patience, companionship, and someone who wants to love a sweet old hound. I may be a senior, but I still have plenty of energy, personality, and love left to give. I’d really like to spend my golden years belonging to someone again.

Hi, I’m Seven! I’m a 7-year-old, 12-pound Chihuahua with a soft white coat and a big love for cozy living. If your idea of a great afternoon involves a couch, a blanket, and a little dog tucked beside you, I think we’re going to get along very well.

I’m an affectionate, gentle and pretty chill guy. I enjoy going for walks and I’m great on a leash, but I’m equally happy spending the day lounging on the couch. My favorite place might be snuggled underneath a blanket with my person. I know “sit” and “stay,” I’m crate trained, and I’m friendly when meeting new people.

I’ve lived with a cat before and even enjoyed playing with him. I’ve also lived with other dogs and generally do well with them. Funny enough, I’m often more interested in making friends with the big dogs than dogs my own size! If another dog gets too pushy, I may bark to ask for some space.

I lived with a toddler and have always been gentle, but little-kid energy can overwhelm me. I’d probably be happiest with adults or older children who understand when a little guy needs some quiet time.

My family loves me, but their lives have changed and they know I deserve a home that can better meet my needs. I’m ready for a quieter next chapter with plenty of companionship, blankets, and someone who appreciates a sweet little couch potato like me.

Hi, I’m Jasmine! I’m a 13-year-old, 15-pound Chihuahua with a soft brown coat, a snuggly side, and a whole lot of love for the people I trust.

My life is changing through no fault of my own. My person is going through a divorce and relocating to a home where I can’t come along, and sadly, there isn’t another family member able to keep me. Saying goodbye is incredibly difficult for my person, so finding me a kind, patient home would mean the world to both of us.

I’m a senior lady, so I’ve slowed down a little over the years. I take medication for a heart murmur. I can still manage stairs on my own and enjoy going for walks, but these days I prefer them on the shorter side. Honestly, some of my favorite activities require very little athletic ability: cuddling and belly rubs! At home, I’m used to having free run of the house, and at night you’ll find me either sleeping in bed with my person or tucked into my own dog bed.

I have lived with a child from the time she was 1 until age 11, and while I can be nervous around children, I’m also gentle. New people can make me anxious, too, and I may growl or snap when I’m uncomfortable. Please give me time and space to decide that you’re safe. Once I do, you’ll discover that I’m incredibly loving, loyal, protective, and snuggly.

Other animals make me nervous. I can be fearful and vocal around other dogs, and I may bark, growl, chase, or become frightened around cats. Because of that, I’m looking for a home where I can be your one and only pet.

What I really need is someone who understands that trust doesn’t always happen overnight. Treat me with kindness, patience, and respect, and give me time to settle in. Once you’re part of my trusted circle, I’ll be very happy to repay you with loyalty, cuddles, and plenty of requests for belly rubs.

"MILLIE" PUPPY DOG EARS * CORGI/LAB? MIX "SENIOR DOG RESCUE of OREGON Corvallis OR"

SENIOR DOG RESCUE of OREGON

MILLIE Mixed Breed (Medium)  spayed female, 13Y/3M/0W 37 lbs   $200

Hi, I’m Millie! I’m a 13-year-old, 37-pound mixed-breed girl with a white coat, adorable puppy-dog ears, and a big smile. My exact breed is a bit of a mystery—maybe Lab mixed with Corgi? Whatever I am, I’ve managed to keep my youthful good looks. Even my vet was surprised by how alert, active, and friendly I am for my age!

I’ve spent my life in a quiet home where I’m rarely alone, and that’s the kind of life I’d love to continue. I sleep comfortably in my own bed at night, have free run of the house when my person is away, and can still handle stairs on my own. I do need a little help getting in and out of the car, and I have a crate for car rides. I especially enjoy having the window cracked so I can take in all those interesting smells!

I’ve never lived with dogs or children, so we really don’t know how I would feel about sharing my home with them. I can be friendly toward dogs but may also bark or growl. Cats, however, are another story. My family was cautioned about keeping me away from cats when they adopted me, so I need a cat-free home. A fenced yard is also a must for me.

My ideal home would be a quiet one with one or two people who will appreciate my personality, companionship, and affection. I’ve got plenty of love left to give, and I’d be happiest with people who enjoy having a sweet senior girl as part of their everyday lives.

My person loves me deeply, and finding me a new home is an incredibly painful decision. Serious health issues have made it difficult for her to safely care for me, and she wants to make sure I’m settled somewhere loving if she can no longer remain in her own home.

So while this isn’t the goodbye either of us wanted, it’s being made with love. I’m hoping there’s someone out there who will look at my puppy ears, my big smile, and my sweet senior face and say, “Millie, you can come home with me.

Hi, I'm Lollie, a 12-year-old Terrier/Chihuahua mix with a big heart packed into my little 12-pound body. My mom has loved me for the past 10 years, but she's losing her housing and can no longer keep me. Her greatest wish is to find me a safe, loving home—but there's one very important request: I'd really love to stay with my best friend, Adastra aka Addy. We've shared our lives together, and having each other makes new places feel a little less scary.

I'm a sweet, gentle girl who gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and people. I can be a little shy when meeting new people, especially men, but once I feel comfortable, I'm a devoted companion who loves to stay close to my person. If you're looking for a loyal little shadow, I might be exactly who you've been searching for.

I'm house trained, crate trained, and well-mannered. I know commands like come, go lay down, and crate. I can climb stairs, hop in and out of the car on my own, and I'm perfectly content spending a normal workday relaxing at home while you take care of your day. I have a couple of medical issues that the kind folks at SDRO have helped me with. I have an enlarged heart so I now take Vetmedin and Furosimide to keep me feeling great. I also need some prescription food to keep my liver in check. No big deal on these things!! I am full of life and energy, and you would never know anything is wrong!!! It is good to be aware though so regular vet visits will be important going forward. I had my teeth cleaned too so that is out of the way.

My favorite things are simple: curling up in a warm lap, soaking up belly rubs, and snuggling as much as possible. Even though I'm in my senior years, I still enjoy playing with other dogs, especially my buddy Adastra. I'll even let you know if someone pulls into the driveway—I like to keep an eye on things!

Addy is younger, playful, and still a little unsure of the world. I think having me around gives her confidence, and she helps keep life fun for me, too. We truly bring out the best in each other.

If you have room in your home and heart for two wonderful girls, you'll be rewarded with twice the love, twice the companionship, and the joy of keeping two best friends together. That's all we're hoping for.
