Meet Tillie! This pretty girl is a 4 y/o Blue Weimaraner. She was bred in Wisconsin, is AKC registered and traveled to her current home in Washington as a puppy. Her people love her and enjoy their quiet, snuggly time together. The problem is, Tillie craves physical and mental activity; it’s a must for her and something that her people cannot provide at this stage in their lives.
Tillie loves food and attention (perfect for training). She will watch her mom cook while sitting calmly nearby, hopeful something will drop. But she does not get underfoot. She is also a very good traveler - she loves car rides and gets so excited, but she quickly settles and lies down for the ride. She enjoys going on walks and in her exuberance will pull on leash but is otherwise well behaved and is not reactive when she sees other dogs and people. And while she wasn’t a big fan of swimming in a lake, she enjoys (yes, enjoys) baths and showers. She can be a silly stinker, she will race to the couch to get the best spot - your spot! But is very good about moving to her blanket when she is told (she has to try!)
But with Tillie’s built up energy and her 70 pounds of love, she can be too much for an unguarded older person or kids. She will jump up for attention and sometimes accidentally knocks into people when running through the house. She can get so excited that she’ll grab socks, a dish towel, paper towels, whatever she can reach and then refuse to let you take it from her. And she is not fully crate trained because she was adamant as a youngster that it was not for her and she won that battle (she will tolerate the crate for a short time; she mostly barks and whines for a while and gives up). All this to say she is not perfect but very close to being so!
Tillie’s
current favorite things are spending time with people, trotting around
with dogs friends, and most of all, playing with a Chuck It ball! She
will run and return over and over, though she will not always drop the
ball. She makes up her own rules. Tillie is good with other dogs and
enjoys hanging out with them in the yard when the family gets together.
She has not met a small dog or a cat.
Tillie is a wonderful girl and so close to having all she needs to thrive. She would do well with a dog companion (she has some separation anxiety and likes to keep busy so a dog buddy would be wonderful) and someone that is home a lot. And we’ll say it again, she needs exercise (hikes, runs, walks, adventures!) and consistent leadership.
Tillie is in good health, current on vaccines, microchipped and spayed. She will celebrate her 5th birthday in May.
If you are interested in giving Tillie a home meant for her best life, please submit an adoption application.
