"MIA"Available for adoption with STUMPTOWN STRAYS
MIA PLUS VIDEO adoption $150 Breed: Pit Bull Terrier
spayed female 9 yrs 48 lbs
ok with Dogs, OK with Cats. ok with kids
Personality: Affectionate, Dignified, Friendly, Gentle, Loves
Mia, our 48 pound 9 year old pitty, is so polite that she makes us feel like brutes in comparison. She demurely shakes for snacks, sits to say hello, and walks with a ladylike loose leash. Mia's even too polite to beg for a new home. Good thing we aren't!
Surrendered in terrible condition with ear, skin and uterus infections, Mia needed help. Poor Mia's ears were so neglected for so long that she had gone deaf. Spaying Mia fixed her uterine infection and time and care cleared up her skin and ears. Although her hearing is not going to come back, she's significantly healthier and happier.
Mia comes with a few manageable medical conditions. We diagnosed her with hypothyroidism, a common disorder of middle aged and senior dogs. Fortunately, this is easily treated with an inexpensive lifelong daily medication. Due to Mia's neglected ears, she also sustained nerve damage to her face. The only symptom is a flirtatious crooked smile. Lastly, Mia has sensitive skin that has improved greatly since we started her on hypoallergenic food. We recommend she stay on this diet long term.
In her foster home, Mia is well mannered. She is house trained, not destructive (except for stuffed animals - although, Mia would argue that she's simply freeing the cotton) and mostly quiet. Mia is friendly to all humans. She is a bit shy initially, but once she gets to know her person, she's very loving and loyal. Mia is also respectful of cats and is good with other dogs.
Mia does okay left alone and is crate trained, however she may initially whine a bit. If it were up to Mia, her person would be home most of the time. She loves adventures, leisurely walks and hikes and is always up for a ride in the car.
Mia is heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives. Her adoption fee is 150 dollars.
Not
to be rude, but what kind of person wouldn't want to adopt MIa? As
always, ICE need not apply. She may be friendly, but even Mia has her
limits.
