"JEDREK" shy affectionate German Shepherd -"MCAS"

 UPDATE 12/15/24 ADOPTED!

"I have come to know him as one of the volunteer dog walkers at the shelter. Jedrek is a shy, gentle, stressed guy who needs a home/adopter willing to give him calm space, including not pushing for physical touch and probably not surrounded by lots of people or different handlers. He can be anxious meeting or even seeing strangers, and his anxiety makes him want to flee in the opposite direction. When he gets to know someone and becomes more comfortable, he enjoys playing fetch and going on long walks. I imagine he would love hanging out on a cozy dog bed while you watch a movie. He is a gem for the right home, which includes giving him space to just be."  Mcas FB

Jedrek may do best in a German Shepherd experienced home who understands the need of the breed to "protect" but mostly he needs good people who respect shy insecure dogs and won't put him into uncomfortable situations without lots of guidance.

He was recently returned from a poor placement, and is struggling in the shelter environment, poor guy.

Jedrek is an affectionate boy who loves to go for walks and explore the world with you! He's always eager to head out on a leash and enjoys discovering new sights and smells. While he's still learning to trust new people, he warms up quickly with a little patience and kindness. Jedrek enjoys gentle pets and will happily take treats from your hand. He's learning to be more comfortable with touch and is making great progress. This curious and playful boy loves investigating his surroundings, sniffing around, and playing with toys. A few things to keep in mind: Jedrek can be a little startled by loud or unexpected noises, and he's still getting used to having a leash put over his head. He may take a little time to warm up to new people, but with some patience and love, he'll be your best friend in no time. Because he's a German Shepherd, Jedrek will thrive with an active lifestyle that includes daily exercise and mental stimulation. Previous experience with this intelligent and loyal breed would be a bonus, as they often require a confident owner who can provide consistent training and guidance through positive reinforcement. If you're looking for a loving companion who's ready for adventure and think you can provide the active life Jedrek needs, he might be the perfect dog for you!
