Description: Hello, my name is Kanu. I'm approximately 55 pounds and I'm a 1 year 6-month-old male pitbull mix. I am looking for a family that wants to spend time with me and teach me new things. I love to go on walks, and I think hiking would also be great. Are you up for the task of giving me a loving home and some training because I am sure I would be a great fit. I would like a home that has a fenced yard so I could run around. I know some stuff, but I can always learn more. I can be shy sometimes with new people, so please give me a chance.
I have been doing very well with the other dogs at the shelter. I also love enrichment things that will exercise my mind. Some experience with my breed would be helpful so please do some research. I would do best with kids who are 13 years old and older because of my energy. I get along with the dogs at the shelter, but if you have dogs please bring them so we can see if we will get along. Cats are unknown.

1) Kanu is a 1 year-6-month-old pitbull mix who will need a home which can give him daily physical exercise and mental stimulation.
2) We don't know how he will be with cats or small animals, so be sure to discuss proper introductions with your adoption counselor if you have small animals living in the house.
3) Kanu has been friendly towards the other dogs in the shelter. So, if you have another dog in your house we will need to set up a meet and greet.
4) Kanu is active so a securely fenced yard would work best for him or plenty of walks to get proper exercise.
