OWNER NOTE:

Bo loves ear, head, belly, and cheek scratches!  His favorite thing seems to be putting his snout in my lap when I sit down and exposing the back of his head for his ears to be scratched.  His ears are so great!  Bo loves to play on the ground.  I have to get down on the ground and he will come and lay down and "wrestle" a bit before he wants his belly rubs.  Bo loves to go on hikes and does not mind 6-8 miles.  He is a great trail companion.  We have had Bo at Lincoln City beach, on and off leash (e collar on), and he is friendly with other dogs and does not engage with close passersby unless given permission.  He is socially great with other humans and is not aggressive with other dogs.  I will absolutely miss him.

Gentle giant Bo is a 6 year old neutered male Weimaraner looking for a new home to call his own. This incredibly friendly fella is very open to approaching/receiving affection from both familiar and unfamiliar humans alike and gets along great with dogs large and small BUT because of his 115# frame he can be a bit much for the petite framed Dachshunds he currently lives/plays with and occasionally steps on by accident.

Though Bo is large in stature, don’t let that fool you into thinking he is fat and lazy as this guy can easily hike 6-8 miles before showing signs of slowing down. Bo has been with his current owner for roughly 9 months after he was taken in following the passing of his very weim experienced and elderly original owners.

What Bo’s current owner did not, and could not, know at the time he took him in was just how much Bo enjoyed chicken, both those left on the counter and more problematically those that reside on the neighboring properties... Although Bo is very much a velcro dog who his owner lovingly describes as “in my back pocket all of the time”, Bo can certainly detach the velcro after a bit of time outdoors so that he can go visit his “friends” the chickens which is understandably causing strains for those involved and Bo’s desire to go visit them is proving stronger than the ability to constrain him.

Interestingly Bo has grown to accept the housecat through training but he will still give a good chase to any cats which cross into his land outdoors.

Behaviorally in general his owner is thrilled with Bo as he is wildly loyal and despite being a velcro dog can still be left unattended in the home without issue (so long as the counters are clear). Bo enjoys riding in vehicles, is potty trained, dog door trained, hand signal and e-collar trained in addition to knowing his basic commands

If you believe Bo might be the perfect addition to your chicken free and fully fenced home, please submit an application below so that we can reach out :)
