Stumptown Strays" is a wonderful local Rescue that helps shelter dogs in need of medical assistance.

We didn’t plan on having these 6 puppies join us at Stumptown Strays. But a tribal member approached us during a wellness clinic we put on in the villages along the Columbia river and asked if we could take a litter that didn’t have anywhere to go.
They have been with us now for several weeks and are 4 months old! These are the girls: Moon - 18 pounds & likely to be about 30-40 pounds fully grown, Luna - 15 pounds & likely to be about 25-35 pounds fully grown, Tsunami - 18 pounds & likely to be about 30-40 pounds fully grown, and Sunny - 10 pounds & likely to be about 20-30 pounds fully grown (always educated guesses!) They are a mix between a smaller cattle dog and a husky. See the DNA results in the photos!
Thanks to the 15/10 Foundation for covering their care in its entirety, we were able to get the whole litter spayed and neutered as well as vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. The 15/10 Foundation has also sponsored a training class for each puppy - up to $400 value! Taking advantage of this offer will be a requirement for adoption.
The puppies did not have much socialization prior to coming to us, but in their separate foster homes, they are blossoming. Although shy and contemplative at first, the puppies are friendly and great with other animals. They have been working on meeting new people and on basic dog skills. They have not all mastered potty training but are very smart and motivated to learn. They have been crate trained and are working on leash skills.
All of the puppies will need an adopter willing to continue to work on their skills. Their foster homes have set them all up for success, but ongoing classes and training will be a must. They promise to make it fun! Their adoption fee is $300.
