MCAS needs to spay/neuter all dogs before adoption, especially the females and purebred dogs! Management is failing the dogs and the community! They have had years to resolve this issue, but when confronted by any source about this failure, they make outdated excuses (has been happening since 2020) or create deflections, so the general public doesn't recognize management's gross negligence to prioritize this funded, legal government mission. ALL shelters and rescue groups are struggling with overflow of homeless dogs. HOWEVER, these groups are STILL able to ensure that their adoption animals are spay/neutered! It is gross negligence on MCAS's part to not make spay/neuter the priority for adoption animals.
But, it's not the dog's fault! These poor shelter dogs need good adopters

CLAIRE #378401 listed as American Pit bull female, 2 yr 6 mths 63 lbs
Meet Claire, a gentle soul who believes that the best friendships are built with time and a little bit of patience. While she can be hesitant and shy when meeting new people, Claire is a true diamond in the rough who just needs a quiet space to feel secure. Once she realizes she is safe, her bashful exterior melts away to reveal a loyal companion who quietly seeks out your company. She is incredibly motivated by treats, which is the "secret key" to winning her heart and making her feel brave in new situations. For a patient adopter, there is nothing more rewarding than the moment Claire decides you are her person and nudges your hand for affection. If you have a calm home and a pocket full of snacks, Claire is ready to be your most devoted friend!
