Dogs on their website https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/dogs/
Yakima, WA is a long drive from Portland, but the Yakima Humane Society seems like a decent animal shelter that could use a boost for attention. They spay/neuter all their adoption pets and try to do adequate adoption screening (which is more than can be currently said of Mult County animal shelter!)
PITA intake 4/2/25 Pet id 58235658 Adoption fee $175
"Listed as" Mini Aussie/spaniel mix female, 5 yrs 2 mths 28 days
Meet Pita, a five year old Mini Aussie/Spaniel mix weighing around 50 pounds.
Pita
was owner surrendered to us along with a cat due to her owner passing
away. She seems to be a very friendly, low-key girl who enjoys going on
walks. She loves to snuggle and is a bit overweight so she would benefit
from a diet. It does appear Pita has been shaved which is very
unfortunate as she is a double doated dog and this could have
permanently damaged her coat, it may never grow back as thick and lush
as it was. Remember, shaving a double coated dog actually makes them
more hot during the summer due to them not have their natural protection
from the heat and sun. Pita deserves to find her new home where she can
hopefully live out her days relaxing and enjoying the finer things in
life.
