"I have come to know him as one of the volunteer dog walkers at the shelter. Jedrek is a shy, gentle, stressed guy who needs a home/adopter willing to give him calm space, including not pushing for physical touch and probably not surrounded by lots of people or different handlers. He can be anxious meeting or even seeing strangers, and his anxiety makes him want to flee in the opposite direction. When he gets to know someone and becomes more comfortable, he enjoys playing fetch and going on long walks. I imagine he would love hanging out on a cozy dog bed while you watch a movie. Jedrek may do best in a German Shepherd experienced home who understands the need of the breed to "protect" but mostly he needs good people who respect shy insecure dogs and won't put him into uncomfortable situations without lots of guidance.

He was recently returned from a poor placement, and is struggling in the shelter environment, poor guy.

Donner and Blitzen ( shelter holiday names)  "Hold it" in their kennel, so they may be house-trained.  They get cold in this weather, and are not made to be outside dogs.  Hounds are sensitive and loving dogs, and sometimes vocal, so not suited to live in apartments or close together housing. They need a home(s) that will provide good exercise (as do most breeds) but hounds are couch potatoes when tired.
