POP
" Her flyer says to be the only dog because of her excitability but she’s come along way from when she first came in. She doesn’t jump up and down anymore and is actually soft in temperament and responds well to luring and a gentle “off”  . She is the ambassador of the shelter. There was a new puppy someone else was walking and she laid down not in a predatory way but more of a way to invite play and show she’s not a threat. She also loves to play in the water."  Volunteer

"A special post for our girl Pop!

"Pop is our longest resident and we just can’t figure out how this sweet girl is still waiting for her person!

She is a young, energetic Lab mix with a BIG heart. She absolutely adores people, loves other dogs, and has so much joy to give. We can’t help but imagine how happy she would be with a family, a home, and a life full of adventures to call her own.

She deserves a cozy place to land, people to love, and the chance to enjoy all the things that make life wonderful for a young dog. Instead, she's been waiting since April for someone to see her potential and give her a chance.

Description: Hello, my name is “Pop”. I weigh about 54 pounds and am 1 year old. I'm a very happy dog that would like to spend a lot of time learning new things and brushing up on old things. I have the energy to go walking, running and hiking. I will need a lot of exercise and mental enrichment. Dog training would be a great way for us to bond better. I would like to have a home that has a fenced in yard so I could run around and be a dog.

1) Pop would do best in a home with kids 13 or up. However, she may do well with respectful kids who may understand her excited nature. We would require all children to be brought in to meet her prior to take her home.

2) We don't know how Pop will be with cats or small animals, so be sure to discuss proper introductions with your adoption counselor if you have small animals living in the house.

3) Pop is a very sociable gal and loves people!

4) Although Pop has done well with some dogs in the shelter, it is recommended that she be the only dog in the home due to how excitable she can get and the need for her to have structure.
