Hi there, I’m Chaka Kahn — yes, like the singer! I’m a 12-year-old
terrier/chihuahua mix weighing about 20 pounds, with a sleek
black-and-white coat and a big personality to match my famous name.
For most of my life, I’ve been my human’s devoted companion and even worked as a registered service dog. I’ve always taken my job seriously — staying close, being loyal, and keeping my person company through life’s ups and downs. Sadly, my human moved into a senior care center and can’t take me along, so I’m looking for a new place to spend my golden years.

I’m happiest in a calm, quiet home where I can be the princess that I am. I’m also definitely not a fan of cats — I’ll chase them if I get the chance — so a cat-free home is a must.
Once I feel safe and settled, I’m a loyal little shadow who enjoys being near my person. I’m used to having the run of the house during the day and love curling up in a comfy chair for long naps. I really appreciate having someone around most of the time and am game for a car ride anytime!
I still enjoy getting out for walks and car rides — there’s a whole world of smells out there! What I need most now is a patient, dog-savvy person who will give me the time and understanding I need to feel secure again.
If you have a quiet home, a comfy chair, and room in your heart for a loyal companion, I just might be your girl. Together, we could make these golden years pretty special.
