"ROMEO" (open Tues - Sun)handsome FOXHOUND/POINTER Mix * "NEWBERG ANIMAL SHELTER, Oregon - non-profit"

"Meet Romeo, our longest resident dog!
Romeo is a 3.5 year old hound mix. He came to our shelter from @mauihumanesociety all the back in February, and has yet to be adopted. He’s a large dog with a lot of energy, but that only makes him that much more fun! He’s done fantastic with every dog he’s met, and loves getting all the attention. Romeo would do best going home to an active family that enjoys going on adventures and cuddling up together at the end of the day.
If you’re interested in Romeo, check out our website newberganimals.com to view his profile and submit an adoption application."  Newberg Animal Shelter FB 9/27/25

Meet Romeo.

If you’re looking for a dog who will truly love you, Romeo is ready to give his whole heart. This sweet boy has been waiting far too long for his happily ever after, and he deserves a family who will cherish and spoil him the way he’s always deserved.

Romeo is incredibly affectionate and devoted to his people. He’s a total leaner who wants to press right up against you, soaking in every bit of closeness he can. After he’s had a chance to stretch his legs and play (a fenced yard where he can safely run and explore would be perfect for him), he’s happiest curled up as close as possible—sometimes somehow folding himself into the tiniest little ball just to stay connected to his person.

He’s playful, loyal, and eager to be part of your everyday life—whether that’s enjoying time outside together or relaxing at home. Romeo bonds deeply and loves with his whole heart. He’s been so patient while waiting for someone to choose him. Now he just needs a loving family to finally say, “You’re home.” Could you be the one to give Romeo the forever he’s been dreaming of?

He’s loyal, loving, and ready to finally have a place to call home. Romeo has been patient… now he just needs someone to choose him.

 Meet Romeo.
He’s part dog, part caffeinated rocket hailing all the way from Maui. Romeo doesn’t walk — he teleports, leaving only a blur and the faint sound of zoomies in his wake. He’s fueled by adventure, fetch marathons, and your inability to catch him. If you’ve ever wanted a best friend who doubles as your personal trainer, your hype man, and your four-legged comedian, Romeo is ready to sweep you off your feet — and then run laps around them.

If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 6pm, Sunday 11am – 4pm.
