- Active Mind: He’s a clever boy who loves daily walks and staying engaged.
- Gentle Spirit: Looking for a calm home to spend his golden years.
-Dog-Friendly: Jax participates in playgroups at the shelter and has been dog-social. Adoption counselors will provide guidance on introducing Jax to other pets in your home.
Size: A sturdy, manageable 52 lbs.
Adoption fee for dogs 6 years and older: $60. A one year license fee for Multnomah County residents is also $27. Long-term costs and commitments apply!
As a senior dog, Jax will need some TLC, including future dental work, but it's a small price to pay for the endless loyalty and companionship he offers. If you're looking for a mature friend to share your days with, he's your guy." MCAS FB 10/6/25

Jax is a handsome 9-year-old Border Collie mix with an active mind and a gentle spirit. Though he's a senior, this clever boy is no couch potato-he still has plenty of love for walks and engaging activities! He is an affectionate and devoted companion looking for a calm home to settle down in. Jax may do well with another dog with careful, slow introductions. This good boy will need a little future dental attention from his new family, but he promises a lifetime of loyalty in return. If you're looking for a smart, loving, and mature friend ready for daily walks and quality time, come meet Jax!
