Stumptown Strays" is a wonderful local Rescue that helps shelter dogs in need of medical assistance.
"CINNAMON " is Available for adoption with STUMPTOWN STRAYS
spayed female 10 years 16 lbs (overweight)
adoption fee $300 ok with kids, dogs, cats
Personality: Couch, Gentle, Independent, Loves, Quiet
Cinnamon, our 10 year old 16 pound chihuahua, has very low standards.
Not one to turn down food, Cinnamon will happily eat what's offered to
her. Where most dogs will insist on several walks a day, Cinnamon is
happy with two good rolls on her back. Fancy beds? Toys? Just give
Cinnamon a pile of laundry to lay in and she'll call it a day.
Cinnamon
was 18 pounds when she was found stray. Considering that would be a
good weight for her if she were about 6 inches taller, we had to work on
Cinnamon's waistline. She also had a skin infection from a flea
infestation and a mouthful of rotten teeth. Although she's not yet her
ideal 13 pounds, Cinnamon's on her way! She's also had her dental work
done and her hair is growing back beautifully.
Cinnamon's chronic
obesity contributed to arthritis in her shoulders and knees. Although
comfortable now, she may require more regular pain meds as she ages. We
detected an enlarged heart when we did chest x-rays. Cinnamon's been to a
cardiologist and was given the all clear - she should have a recheck
every year but doesn't need any treatments or heart medications
currently. Cinnamon also has some hearing loss. Honestly, she probably
wouldn't have cared about your singing anyway.
In foster,
Cinnamon's been as easy as a house plant. She loves everyone, is
tolerant and sweet, and is good with cats, dogs and kids. Cinnamon is
potty trained and not destructive (it's hard to destroy whilst napping).
We think she would fit in just about anywhere.
Cinnamon is heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives.
Have you been wishing your pile of laundry were a bit more sentient? Are you good at measuring out kibble and belly rubs?
