 UPDATE 10/11/25 ADOPTED 

 MCAS needs to spay/neuter all dogs before adoption, especially the females and purebred dogs! They have had years to resolve this issue. Management is failing the animals and community.  

MEANWHILE - these poor shelter dogs need good homes. Please visit them!

Nelly was initially very timid, scared in the shelter, but is responding well to love from the volunteers (update - now in foster!)

Nelly is a big, beautiful puppy with a huge heart waiting to come out. When she first arrived, she was understandably fearful and shy. However, she's already showing amazing progress, gaining comfort and confidence with her current caregivers in a short amount of time! Nelly appears to be an under-socialized pup who will greatly benefit from consistent, positive interactions with people. She needs a family that understands the effort and reward of helping a fearful dog blossom. We're looking for an adopter ready to invest the time, patience, and positive energy needed to guide her through puppyhood and help her become a well-rounded, happy, and confident adult dog.
