Meet Halley, a two year old Pit/Cattle Dog mix weighing 47 pounds.

Gentle Halley is navigating a world that suddenly looks very different. Brought in with three other dogs, her owner could only take one back and sadly had to surrender the rest. Understandably, Halley is still adjusting-her world changed overnight, and she's just trying to find her footing.

She may be a little unsure at first, but it doesn't take much to coax this sweetheart out of her shell. A little kindness, a calm voice, and some patient TLC go a long way with Halley. She's medium-sized, easy to be around, and has a quiet, empathetic presence that touches everyone she meets.

Her previous owner tells us she's good with other dogs but can get overwhelmed in busy, high-energy environments. Halley does best with a gentle approach and would thrive in a calm, loving home. Bonus: she's a great car buddy-riding like a pro with quiet curiosity.

Halley is looking for someone to help her feel safe again-someone who sees the beauty in her soft spirit and the strength behind her gentle eyes.

This pet is available for adoption on 8.15.25 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.

Did you know YHS offers a "Foster to Adopt" program?
It's a fun way to make sure you and your potential new pet are the perfect match-like a sleepover, but with extra cuddles! Spend a little time together before making things official. It's a win-win! Just stop by the front desk and ask how to get started.
