"COLIN" UPDATE PICS! He is WORTH "Saving!" sensitive Pittie "MCAS"

 UPDATE 2/21/25  ADOPTED!!!

Colin is a sensitive dog who would do well in a calm low-traffic home with patient loving guardians. He's a nice dog and has many fans, but he has been in the shelter for so long and it's sad.

Our state's homeless dogs' shelter system is overwhelmed by need. This is even worse in many areas of the country, and many dogs are being brought into Oregon from other states to "Save" them from euthanasia

Colin is a local Pitbull mix (beloved by volunteers) at MCAS who has been in the shelter system for a long time. If Collin does anything "wrong" at this point, he will probably be euthanized, but for now he is "safe"... He is spending almost 24/7 in a overly loud county shelter where little is done by management to minimize dog shelter kennel reactivity/noise which could reduce dog and human stress.

It's a tough life for Collin and his stress hormones are constantly over-employed.

Easier dogs than Collin, smaller dogs and "at risk" out-of-state dogs often get adopted before the local longterm shelter pitbulls...

Please consider Collin for your next companion, if you think you could provide a great home.

Colin is a longer-term resident, patiently waiting to find his forever family. 🏡 This sweet and sensitive pitbull mix takes a little time to warm up to new people and places, but once he does, he's a devoted friend. He's a quick learner and eager to please, making him a great candidate for positive reinforcement training. Colin thrives in a calm and predictable home with a consistent routine. As quite the active boy, he loves enrichment activities like snuffle mats and puzzle toys, so be prepared to keep his mind and body busy! He's a bit wary of new people and situations, so a patient and understanding family is key. He may do best in a household with older children or adults who can respect his boundaries and understand his energy level. Important Note: Colin needs a home with no cats or small animals. He has so much love to give, and promises to be your most loyal companion once he feels safe and secure.
