Hi there! My name is Merlin, but my friends also call me MerMer. I'm a
12-year-old terrier weighing in at a perfect 11 pounds of sweetness. If
you're looking for a quiet little shadow to share your days with, I
think we should meet.
My world changed when my mom passed away in January, and now I'm hoping to find one special person to love for the rest of my days. I'm the kind of dog who bonds deeply with my human. I don't have to be in your lap all the time—I'm happiest curled up right next to your leg, following you from room to room, just enjoying your company.
I'm a gentle, shy fellow with the softest heart. I love giving gentle kisses, soaking up the sunshine, chewing on a good bone, riding in the car, and spending peaceful time with my favorite person. I'm also very food motivated, so if you've got treats, I'll happily show off some of the tricks I've learned over the years! And when I get really excited—like when you come home or it's treat time—I let out my signature little "wooo wooo" bark. It's pretty adorable, if I do say so myself.
I've had a difficult past. Before finding my family, I lived in an abusive home, so being picked up still makes me nervous. But if you're patient, gentle, and move slowly, I'll trust you. Kindness means everything to me.
I get along well with other small dogs, although I'd rather not share my favorite bed. Older, calm children are just fine, but little ones who grab or play too rough make me uncomfortable, and I'll politely let them know I'd like some space.
My dream home is peaceful and quiet, with someone who has room in their heart for a sweet senior boy. I'll reward you with loyal companionship, gentle kisses, warm cuddles by your side, and unconditional love. All I want is a safe place to rest my head, feel cherished, and spend my golden years beside my favorite person. Could that person be you?
