"LAURENTAVAILABLE FOR Adoption at Oregon Humane Society  in PORTLAND

LAURENT Available 1/27/2026

  #343481  $450 neutered male, 2 yrs 89 lbs

 "Looks like" Leonburger

What my friends at OHS say about me:

  • I would love to get up and go adventure with you.
  • I'm a fiend for food! Snacks are a great way to make friends with me and win your way into my heart.
  • I can be a lot for some dogs as I am very excited to play! I can easily overwhelm dogs with my playstyle, so if you have a shy dog, we may not be the best fit.
  • Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.
  • I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted.

LUMI #381438 listed as american pitbull, female, 1 yr 11.7 lbs

Meet Lumi, a sensitive and soulful sweetheart who is looking for a patient home where she can truly bloom. While she may start as a bit of a "wallflower"-occasionally offering a small growl or retreat when she feels overwhelmed by new faces-the reward for a slow introduction is a deeply devoted companion who literally wants to be your right-hand (or right-shoulder) girl. Lumi is a unique "shoulder dog" who prefers perching close to your heart over sitting in a lap, making her the ultimate velcro dog for a quiet, low-traffic household. This social butterfly is verified cat-friendly and enjoys the company of other dogs, often inviting them to play once her initial nerves have settled. Whether she's curiously exploring on a leash with a bit of "zest for life" or napping peacefully in the car on the way to a new adventure, Lumi is a polite and gentle soul who manages her house manners well. Although she is currently on the schedule for her spay surgery, she is eagerly waiting for a family who understands the "slow and steady" approach and has a spare shoulder ready for a lifetime of snuggles.

"BANEis Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

MCAS hours/ Location

Adoption cost: $160.00 each License fee: $27.00 (Multnomah County residents only

BANE #364728 listed as american pitbull, Neutered male 3 yrs 4mths 54 lbs

Bane is a true miracle. He has emerged as a resilient, "happy-go-lucky" guy who is 100% focused on love. This soulful explorer is a world-class snuggler known for his signature "side-rub," where he leans his whole weight against your legs for scratches. When he isn't melting into your lap, he is a champion of fetch and tug-of-war, often cheekily shoving a toy into your hand to start a game. He is a gentle soul with a "soft mouth" for treats and an adventurous spirit that makes every neighborhood walk a joy. Bane is a "star pupil" when it comes to house manners; he is fully potty trained, knows "Sit," and is currently mastering the "Wait" command at the door. While he is incredibly smart and treat-motivated, shelter life has left him with significant crate anxiety. However, he is completely non-destructive in the home and is a perfect candidate for a "crate-free" lifestyle where he can snooze on a dog bed while you're away. Dog-tolerant and polite on the leash, Bane would thrive in an active home, potentially with another social dog to help him feel confident as he continues his journey to a forever home. Can you give this resilient, toy-loving survivor the soft landing he deserves?! ❤️🦴

CHANCE #381251 listed as Shepherd, 8 mths 64 lbs (and growing)
Meet Chance, a sensitive and loyal soul who is looking for a patient partner to help him shine! While he can be a bit nervous when meeting new people, Chance is a "fast friend" who transforms into a wiggly, affectionate companion once he knows he's safe. In fact, once he warms up, he's known to flop over for belly rubs and lean in close for all the pets you're willing to give. Because Chance finds the big world a little intimidating, he is looking for an adult-only home (kids 16+) where his family can help him navigate new introductions at his own pace. He's a smart boy who already knows how to sit for treats and is highly motivated to learn and please his person. If you're looking for a devoted sidekick who will stick by your side and offer endless play bows once the ice is broken, Chance might be the perfect match for you.

"MOXI" pretty, petite fawn Pitbull "MCAS"

PLEASE MCAS - SPAY MOXI before she is adopted (again)!

MCAS needs to spay/neuter all dogs before adoption, especially the females and purebred dogs! Management is failing the dogs and the community!

They recently adopted out *together* an intact male/female pair of purebred small dogs!! By failing their legal obligation to spay/neuter all adoption animals management has created a MUCH LARGER problem for homeless pets. .....WHAT are they thinking??? They could easily have created a simple, effective offsite medical  facility years ago that would only focus on the spay/neutering of the animals. .but..it's not the dogs' fault, and these dogs need good adopters!

  • To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout.
  • I love to learn! You can use my favorite toys or treats as positive reinforcement and to teach me new things. I already know some basic cues such as, sit, down, & stay, and I'm putting in the work to learn how o walk nicely on leash.
  • High Energy: I can become easily frustrated if my energy and exercise needs are not met. I will need positive outlets and a calm environment to help me flourish.
  • I am used to living an active lifestyle! I would love to get up and go adventure with you. Walks, hikes, and trips to the beach or river all sound like a grand time to me!
  • I can't wait to show my new family how playful I am!
  • There is a 100% chance I will make you fall in love with me!

*Foster Home*

What my friends at OHS say about me:
  • I can be shy at first, but I warm up quickly and will want to play once I get comfortable!
  • When I get excited, I can get the zoomies and sometimes can be a bit rowdy... It's something I'm working on, but I may do best in a home without younger children or people that may easily be knocked over.
  • I'm smart and love to learn! I'm hoping that whoever takes me home will continue working with me so I can grow to become the amazing companion dog I'm destined to be.
  • I love to be around people! I'd make a great buddy for curling up on the couch to watch a movie.
  • I love other dogs but if your resident dog does not like to wrestle and box then we probably aren't the best match.
  • Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.
  • I need to go to a home where there is another dog to help boost my confidence and to play with!
