"GUNNER" Available for Adoption at "CLACKAMAS CO DOG Shelter"

Update 7/22/25 Possibly going to Rescue?

Shelter ID: 106019  Breed: (GUESS)  German Shepherd Dog

neutered male, 3 yrs 70 lbs

Gunner is the Dog of the Week!
At 3 years old and weighing 82lbs, Gunner isn't exactly a "small" dog, but despite his size, he is a gentle and easy-going German Shepherd mix. Gunner can be shy at first when meeting new people, but readily will accept snacks and lean in for scratches. He really wants his new family to know how much he loves to play ball, too, and hopes that you'll be open to a nice game of fetch every so often - it really is his favorite! Gunner is a sweet guy with nice manners, and he can't wait to show off for you when you come to meet him!
1) Gunner would thrive in a home that has experience with large breed, powerful dogs!
2) We don't know how Gunner will be with cats or other small animals, so be sure to discuss proper introductions with your adoption counselor to make sure that Gunner and any resident small animals can be great housemates!
3) Gunner has been dog friendly here at the shelter, and may do great living with another dog of similar size and energy level. He may prefer living with a female dog over a male dog, but has made some friends with other male dogs here at the shelter
4) Due to his initial shy nature, Gunner may do best in a semi-quieter home with children who are at least 13 years of age or older.
