"COBB" In FOSTER likes compatible dogs, no cats
UPDATE 3/19/24 ADOPTED
Potty trained
Crate trained
No Cats
1 1/2 yrs old, 67 lbs
Cobb came to Multnomah County Animal Services in September as a stray and shelter life had been wearing on him. He was struggling and needed out ASAP. Thankfully, one of our fellow BAPBR fam stepped up to foster! She’s been working with Cobb the last two months refining his manners and he’s doing so well!
Here’s what his foster has to say-
“Cobb is a “velcro” dog who is looking for his furever home. He likes to jump when he gets excited so we have been working on not jumping, along with other basic commands. He is food motivated, takes treats gently & has not shown any food aggression. Cobb would do well in a home with a yard & either being the only dog or with another large, confident dog who can match his play style (rough and rowdy). Cobb does have leash/barrier reactivity so would need an adopter who is patient & committed to helping him overcome his fear. Cobb is neutered, microchipped & up to date with all vaccines. Please share this post to help us find Cobb his forever human to love.”
The time has come for Cobb to go back to the shelter and we would love to find him a home who will continue to work on everything he’s learning, rather than regress and get accustomed to shelter life again.
Cobb is a large dog with a large heart and personality. He has the most beautiful blue eyes and the best smile! He needs an adopter who will be dedicated to providing him sufficient exercise and committed to positive reinforcement training.
Our amazing and generous trainer, Amanda Theod, will provide post adoption/foster support to anyone willing to open their home to him!
“You will fall in love with the dog I become, if you have the time to help me learn. That picture the shelter has of me smiling – that smile will be for you. “- Cobb

Introducing... Cobb! A charming young boy with a generous spirit who
loooves belly rubs. Cobb is what you might call a "velcro dog" as he is
always eager to be by your side and explore the world with you. He's
mastered the art of being house and crate trained, showing no
destructive behavior whatsoever. Since he can sleep peacefully through
the night in his own bed a crate overnight isn't necessary. He's also a
calm companion during car rides. Cobb's enthusiasm for food is matched
only by his gentle manners-he's not shown any signs of food aggression
and even enjoys munching on ice cubes! He responds well to his name,
knows basic commands, and is eager to learn more. Cobb would thrive in a
home with another large, secure dog who can help boost his confidence.
Being still young, he's working on understanding social cues from other
canines, so a patient companion who can gently correct him is ideal.
While he may still get a bit overzealous with greetings and jumping,
he's making great progress. Ongoing leash training is recommended to
ensure consistent redirection. It's also recommended not having cats in
the household. But above all, Cobb's biggest wish is to find his forever
human-the one who'll cherish him endlessly.

Meet Cobb! He has been struggling in the shelter,
and could really use a break. He is a smart boy and would soak up some
basic positive-reinforcement training like a sponge! Here is what our
volunteers have to say about him!
"Do you see my bright blue eyes? They sparkle with energy. Did you
catch that super-blast of enthusiasm when I first came out of my pen?
Are you a couch potato? Nice to meet you, but I’m not the dog for
you.
I’m young. I’m active and fun-loving. And I’m hungry for good
training.
I need someone to teach me good manners. And tricks and games.
Good, fun stuff.
The world was a scary place for me before I was brought into the
shelter. But I have a big heart and mind. I’m ready for the good life.
The volunteers say I learn fast. (Do you have tasty rewards? Even
better.) Do you like snuggles? I do. And belly rubs.
You will fall in love with the dog I become, if you have the time to
help me learn. That picture the shelter has of me smiling – that smile
will be for you."
