Bolt (aka Bo) Pet of Week Flyer June 25, 2018

========
We love this guy and things have made it tough for him to find a new home. Beau has been in a kennel for a long time - almost 7 months.  He used to be quite calm in the kennels, but his long stay has taken a tool on his kennel presence and he has become more barky when dogs go by his kennel (so please ignore that, because he is not that way outside of the kennel, and won't be that way when he settles into a home)
Bolt to his  many friends is one of the most affectionate dogs you could ever meet  He loves pets and belly rubs and just hanging out with you.  He's an amazing dog for some lucky person(s), and if I were in the position to do so, would foster or adopt him. We all just hope Bo finds the right home  who is responsible, makes a commitment and sticks by him, and understands and appreciate Bolt like so many of us do, AND gives him the time he'll need to adjust. Bolt probably had an abusive (or at very least, a lousy) owner
and was also left alone much of the time in an insecure yard with his canine brother (who has since been adopted) One time when they got out of the yard they injured a small dog and the owner of such also got a bite when he reached in (I think - these are my words only, and  are the not official notes/ language obviously)
Because of this incident, Bolt has some requirements that go along with his adoption - a secure
6 ft wood fence, (not to be left alone in the yard, I think) needs to be leash walked by a responsible person (a gentle leader I believe?) and unfortunately, the requirement that many of us personally hate, and deem to be unfair, and which seems to be "the deal breaker" for potential adopters, is a the requirement that a "warning sign" must put up on their outside fence - IF the adopter lives in Mult Co.
So many of us love this dog and continue to fervently hope for a happy life for Bolt.

My dream is that one day I'm able to to take happy update pics (or at least post some) of Bo happily settled into his great new home!

Please come visit him soon - outside of his kennel, and give him a chance to show you his amazing self. PLEASE NOTE _ BOLT IS NOW LOCATED IN A DIFFERENT AREA = PLEASE ASK TO MEET HIM!
Available for adoption at Multnomah County Animal Services!

FLASH! PEW! You almost didn't see me there did ya!? My name is Bolt, I am a 4 year old, 56 lb lab mix who has worked my way into the hearts of many volunteers and staff here at MCAS. It could be because of my sweet and sensitive eyes, my gentle kennel presentation, or my stylish-superhero looks! For those I recognize and adore, I stand on my hind legs and greet them happily at the front of my kennel. I do have a prey drive for smaller critters, and the shelter is seeking an adult-only home with no other animals. I have some other adoption requirements, which the shelter will review with you during the interview process. Do you think I could marvel my way into your life? Ask to meet me today!  4 1/2, 56 lbs
